LO had 6 or 7 small red bumps on his stomach/lower chest this evening...they look almost like pimples but there's no head to them. They don't seem to bother him at all.
Does this sound like it could be an allergic reaction? There's nothing around his mouth, tush, or hands...the only new food he's had has been apples, which he had yesterday (there were a few small bumps in the afternoon, he had the apples in the morning) and today. Are apples a typically allergenic food?

Our little one gets these every now and then and is not on solids yet. Dr says its either eczema or bc of our detergent. (We wash all his clothes in all free but until recently, not our clothes)

Was he wearing something with snaps or zipper around the area? Or waistband? Maybe try some baby rash cream?

@wheres_c: @mrsmenow: thanks ladies, we hadn't used any new detergent or soap or anything...I'll just leave off the apples, and ask the pedi on monday 
@shopaholic: he was actually in a sleeper all day yesterday, so no waistband or anything! It seems a little better today, maybe I'll try some aquaphor

We have that on and off (no solids yet) and pedi said it was dry skin. Aquaphor cleared it up!

@wheres_c: will do! Apparently it's a very uncommon allergy, but it can be associated with birch pollen allergies (which DH has...wonder if LO will inherit that!).

@hilsy85: FWIW, I have a cousin who is allergic to ALL fresh fruits. So apples don't seem that strange of an allergy.

We have to push his appt back til later next week, but I will update when we go! The dots have almost disappeared now, and I haven't given him apples today...coincidence??

did you ever figure it out? @hilsy85: we gave A a couple apple slices to gnaw a few days ago and yesterday he had the same tiny red/pink spots on his face/chin. i aquaphored last night and didn't give him apples yest - and this am they were gone...

@mrsjyw: she said it was probably a contact allergy (like from detergent or dry skin or something). The most common allergy from apples is from the skin on raw apples, and it's typically oral allergy syndrome, where it makes your mouth itchy. I had given LO cooked peeled apples, so I don't think that was it, and there was nothing on his face/mouth/hands...anyway, she told me to try them again and see if the redness came back.
The fact that A's spots were on his face might make a difference, also did you give him raw apple? Maybe ask your pedi at the next appt?
