DD was EBF the first year so I never had to carry bottles with me when we are out and about. I just whip out the boob. Now that she's on WCM, should I carry milk with me? Right now I just carry water with me and feed her snacks and whatever we eat but we are never out for more than a few hours at a time so we wait until we are home for milk. But what if we are out ALL day? How long is cows milk good at room temperature? And how long do you keep milk in your sippy if she doesn't finish it? What do you guys do?

they have organic milk in small cartons that don't need refrigeration

before we go somewhere, i usually just put some milk in her sippy and bring it with us to give to her if she wants it. we haven't had any issues with it getting too warm (but it has been winter and cold out, so not sure what i would do come spring/summer).

I haven't had to pack milk for a trip sans refrigeration yet but if I did I'd just carry it along in a small insulated bag with an ice pack. May be more stuff to lug around, but I'd do it for peace of mind (b/c I'm neurotic like that!)

I use the boxes @wheres_c: mentioned (fabulous invention!). or if we are at a restaurant, I just order a cup of milk for DD.
My issue when out is less about temperature and more about cups leaking (gah)!

By the time my LOs switched to cow's milk they were usually only having milk at mealtimes so I didn't have to worry too much about carrying it with me. However, when we went on our very very long driving vacation this past summer, we bought the shelf-stable milk previously mentioned. We have also just bought milk at the store when out and about if longer than expected.

I've never taken milk out with us. If we're out all day (hasn't happened yet!) I'll order milk for the kids.
I wouldn't keep milk out at room temp for longer than an hour. -
Nope, I just ask for milk at the restaurant then. Haven't had a place charge me yet!

Good question. I never thought of this. I have always just had water and my boob as backup, but am slowly weaning her off.

Ours only have milk at mealtimes, so 3x day. If we are away for a meal, we bring a lunchbox with their cups and an ice pack. No big deal.
The shelf stable cows milk tastes really different than what my kids normally drink, so it doesn't work wellk for us.
Eta: my kids do get snacks and water while out between meals typically, just no milk. And depending on temp, I try not to give the milk back to them if it's been out more than a half hourish.

@dolphin: My LO is 16.5 months and I do not carry milk around. I figure it will do her no harm if she skips milk one day if we are out all day. As long as she's hydrated, thats enough.
