OK - we were chatting a little about this in our October board -- but I am not sure what crib mattress to get!
I can't find any solid info online really, I know I want something firm, and possibly organic/natural - but that's it!
Tell me what you got & why.
And, we have the Babyletto Mercer crib which takes a 52"L x 27.5"W mattress up to 6" thick.

I'm going to be following this... I have a hand-me-down mattress and I want to get a new one. Trouble is, I can't seem to figure out which one to get since there are so many choices out there!

@BabyBoecksMom: i know! every time I got online or check out the store there are just so many! Even reading consumer reports I don't get a clear understanding of what is best!

We chose to go with a Moonlight Slumber dual sided mattress. I liked that the seams are sealed so no liquids will / can touch the internal portion of the mattress should an uh-oh occur. It also eliminates the need for a mattress cover because of the material and seams. We flipped it to the softer/foam side about 6 months in (we didn't wait until 1 year) and my son sleeps great on it.
ETA: it is pricy.

We bought the Stearns & Foster Baby Dynasty Eco-Luxe Mattress because it was on sale from $249.99 to $189.99 at BRU.
Fits our Baby Cache Crib perfectly!

@pelikila: that looks to be around the price I was looking at - even cheaper than some! Did you get the all foam one - did it have that foam-gas smell??

we have this Sealy baby ultra rest crib and toddler mattress, its very firm and we like it. was $80 at walmart but the same mattress is over $100 at babies r us

Ditto @pelikila, and for the same reasons.
@hellobeeboston: Our moonlight slumber is all foam and didn't smell at all. We let it air out for a couple months prior to baby's arrival, just to be safe.

@hellobeeboston: We have the Starlight Support Supreme all foam one. We had no issue with odor but we also let it air out for a few weeks before we used it.

We got the Simmons Kids Naturally mattress (or something like that) from Target - normally $109, on sale for $85 when I bought it! It's foam and had no smell 
We have the Babi Italia Hamilton crib, and the reviews said it required a larger than 'normal' mattress. This one fit perfectly!
