Hello! I'm finding that I cannot make a decision about what crib mattress to order. What do you have and why did you choose it?

I had a hard time too- so I got the one my friend registered for. It was green certified but not organic and had a mid price point. I got overwhelmed!
I do wish it had a softer side though- both sides are super firm for infants and it turns out my toddler prefers a softer mattress.

We got an organic mattress from Naturepedic. It's double sided with a harder side for infant and soft side for toddler.

There are so much to choose from... I ended up just getting something middle of the road since I didn't want anything too expensive. I know I do want something firmer and waterproof so I got Safety 1st Heavenly Dreams Crib Mattress.

$54. It was the amazon best seller, so i figured that was good!

I also got the Safety 1st Heavenly Dreams Crib Mattress. It was a great price on amazon & had really good reviews. I like that it is waterproof and it has worked really well for my daughter (now 21m old) - she sleeps on it still every night and it has retained its shape perfectly.

My LO obviously hasn't used it yet, but we ordered a mattress that is for infants on one side and toddlers on the other from walmart.

I got the naturpedic one but the one that was seamless and lightweight because OMG changing the sheets gets tiring and those mattresses can be super heavy.

@MamaB: good luck in finding a mattress. I had the same issue, and even after the purchase, I'm still second guessing it. DH thinks I'm crazy for it, of course. There are so many options, though. My best advice, figure out what's important to you and your price range, and once it's home, don't think about it again. Baby will never notice and be absolutely fine.
I bought a Simmons Nature's Dream mattress, because it was made in Canada from natural cotton and is phthalate-free. It also says it's 2-in-1, but DH and I can't agree on which side is firmer - he says one and I say the other. I can't really return it now, since it's opened, and our cats had been lying in the crib until we broke them of the habit. But I'm a little concerned that it's not firm enough? Anyone have this mattress or one like it? Has anyone used a toddler mattress (or toddler side of a 2-in-1) for their infant?

I got the same as @blackbird. As a amazon best seller with 1400+ excellent reviews it was good enough for me! And a good price.
