And LO has never been happier. I'm trying to figure out if it's the lack of dairy, or just that she's hitting the three month mark I age and that's the difference in her behaviour.
To the mamas that had to deal with dietary restrictions for nursing LOs, how did you do it and did your LO grow out of the allergy or intolerance?

It took months for Lala to grow out of it. Every time I did a challenge (at one month intervals), I quickly knew that it was dairy... and after a few months, we stopped challenging until we did our graded re-introduction around a year.

My son is 1 year old and now, he can start to tolerate dairy. We tried it in my breastmilk first and then in himself. We waited until he was steadily gaining weight so he was healthy enough to try it.

@Mrs. Jacks: I owe you a great thanks, I was hemming and hawing about cutting dairy thinking that it was all in my head and she was just a fussy baby until I read your recent post on MSPI and that was the trigger for me to give it a try
I think I'm going to go see our Dr about the proper protocol for perusing this, since I really don't know much beyond 'stop eating dairy'.

@prettylizy: as far as the doctor, our doctor didn't know anything about this. We are finally with a pediatric gastro who helps us.

My daughter recently outgrew it @ 16 months. She vomited, had rash from dairy products when she started solids. However, when we did the allergy test, she wasn't positive for milk allergy. Allergist said it may be another strain?! So we tried some dairy once a month and she's been eating cheese, a bit of ice cream and yogurt cereal bars as of this past month.

I cut dairy and wheat out of my diet for 7 months, and it certainly was not easy. My LO was tested for allergies at 12 months, and he is allergic to cow's milk, eggs, and peanuts. Luckily he outgrew his wheat allergy. I'm hoping that he will outgrow the cow's milk allergy, but it's okay if he doesn't. We have adjusted quite well. It just takes some time to get used to it and it gets easier to find alternatives.
