Would this bother you?
My 14 month old is an early riser. She generally wakes up between 5:30 and 6:30 (sometimes closer to 5, and rarely closer to 6:30). She still naps twice a day when she's home with me, and was taking two naps most of the time at the first daycare we had her in.
We switched her to a new daycare at the beginning of the month because of cost (we finally got off the wait list for this place which is quite a bit cheaper) and because it's closer to DH's office (like 2 minutes away).
They've been really great, and she's adjusted really well, EXCEPT they won't put her down for a morning nap. She was up at 5 yesterday, so DH told them she would be tired and needed a nap and to please try to get her to have one. We got the report when we picked her up, and she slept from 12:20 to 1:40. DH spoke with them this morning, and they said they put all the kids down after lunch (which is contrary to their documentation that says in the infant rooms, they work with the individual child's schedule). They said she goes to sleep by herself, but it can take her a long time to fall asleep. DH countered by saying that she was probably overtired. She's been taking a longer time to fall asleep at night too — and is really silly and giddy (which is her cue to tell me she's overtired). She's in bed by 7 every night, but sometimes isn't asleep till 7:45.
I know daycare is an adjustment and there's a transition period, and she's at the age where she might drop to one nap. But, she takes two naps no problem at home would take two naps at the other daycare most of the time.
Should we keep bugging them to put her down or just go with it? She's the kind of child who doesn't really get cranky or crabby when she's tired, so I don't know if they're just misinterpreting her pleasantness as being ok with their schedule, or if she's not giving them the cues to tell them she's tired.
ETA: wow, that's longer than I thought - sorry!
