We are giving each of LOs teacher a $30 gift card to Target.

Cash! I am giving the two main teachers cash plus a note and a foaming hand soap.

We do some homemade baked good (last year roasted almonds, this year probably chocolate covered oreos) along with a $25 TJMaxx/Marshalls/Homegoods gift card for each.

We are giving our nanny a christmas bonus and a small gift yet to be picked out. I know that what she really wants is $ so the gift will be very inexpensive.

@Mrs D: Can you do a homemade gift and a small gift card? There are some cute ideas on pinterest.

@Adira: I was wondering this as well. The director at our center has been super helpful, so I was thinking about getting her something too...just not sure how to go about giving it to her.

And how to I make sure that the other helpers get their gift too? The main teacher is there until about 2pm and then the other two helpers are there for the rest of the day. I don't trust that my husband will give the right caregiver their gift. Should I just give it to the teacher and trust that she'll get them to the appropriate people??

Oh, and I'm thinking Amazon gift cards. Who can't find something on Amazon, right??

@Adira: Exactly what I'm thinking! The good thing is I can leave things on her desk...so maybe put it in an envelop with her name and ask that it be placed on her desk for her to get in?

@2PeasinaPod: Yeah, maybe if you just give her a GC, you can just put it in an envelope with a card or whatever and it wouldn't be as awkward as if you had an actual present.

@Mrs D: Hmmm... maybe giving a shareable gift to the director and staff makes sense... then no one feels left out, even though I don't interact with any of the staff ever, haha.

We are giving R's 2 main teachers a Target gift card and some Christas treats I make. The 3rd teacher is Jehovah Witness, so we aren't getting her anything. Then there are 4 office workers that I am going to just make some Christmas treats for.

@Mrs D: I asked the office about this, since something I make has peanuts and she told me to make sure it is sealed and the teachers don't open it. So I am going to put in a container. Then use that basket wrap clear stuff around it. Then tell them there is peanuts so don't open till they get home. But I would check with the center.
@2PeasinaPod: I am just going to give the morning teacher, both gifts, and then she can give the afternoon teacher her gift. Will have their names on them.

Does anyone think scratch tickets are a tacky gift for teachers?? I'm planning on getting their main teachers gift cards and the director a gift card, but I want to get something small for all the teachers because they all float around.

@Adira: Yes I do the director and asst dir too!

2 yrs ago I did Method Soaps and attached a tag that said "Wishing you a season full of joy, peace, and hope" Then I crossed off the hope and wrote "soap" haha

I may end up doing it again this year since we are at a new school!

@mrs. wagon: Not at all! I actually do them on St Patty's day and say "I'm so LUCKY your my teacher"

I was thinking about just giving them gift cards to Target. Is that lame??

@Alivoo01: We are doing Target gift cards. Our center has each teacher fill out a sheet of their likes. They all listed Target as gift cards they like. We are doing $50 each for the 2 main teachers and then $25 for the one that floats in and out. And the other floater is Jehovah Witness, so the hive told me to get her nothing.

@Alivoo01: I wouldn't.......honestly for a director I would just make some Christmas treats or some kind of food. How long does she have him?

@sorrycharlie: So true! My teacher friends tell me this all the time. I think anyone could appreciate or use a gift card.

This is really tough - because out daycare has 2 locations, and the teachers all float between them, and between the different age rooms ... so we would have to buy for a dozen plus people. I think I am going to make up some kind of gift basket for all of them to share, but I am not sure what to put in it.
