Daycare for my elementary school age kids has been closed for two weeks and opens again tomorrow. I find myself worried about the post-holiday Covid risk and I'm mulling over keeping the kids home for a week.

We've been isolated all break but I can't imagine everyone followed the government and daycare rules of not gathering or traveling.

I'm considering keeping the kids home a week.
Would that offer us any more protection against Christmas gathering spread or am I just kidding myself? DH is willing to let me keep them home for a week if I shoulder all the extra responsibility.

Does an extra week from home make sense? Are you making any adjustments to routine based on the return from the holidays?
