We have a problem. Our new daycare teacher (LO moved up to the early preschool room) is often late to work. School starts at 7:30 and we need to be able to leave DS by 7:30 because we both have to be at work by 7:45 and have about a 10-15 minute commute depending on traffic. She has been about 5 minutes late at least 4 times in the past 2 1/2 weeks. Each time, it makes us late to work (we alternate who takes him). And then we get in trouble. I have said something to her before and she gave some excuse about traffic. I explained that we have no wiggle room and have to be able to leave right away. She said she would make sure to be there, but it has continued. It isn't every day. But it is often enough that it is a problem. Because I had already talked to her and it didn't fix the problem, I went to the director today. I emphasized that we really like her and it is just a logistical thing, but it makes a big difference in our lives and stress level. I also asked that she handle it in a way that won't make me out to be the mean mom. She said she wouldn't say who said it and she would address it with the whole staff first, since it is something everyone could use reminders on. I sure hope this gets fixed because we love the school, but we can't be late to work all year!! I'm a teacher too and I need to be at my school on time!

I guess I just needed to vent and needed reassurance that I did the right thing, going to the director. I just don't want the teacher to think negatively of our family and my child so I hate to complain...
