If your child is currently in daycare FT will you put them in pre K when it's time?
I'm not sure because pre K is only a few hours. So we will have to worry about childcare after Prek ends. My local PreK is hosted by a daycare and they give you an option to bus them to their daycare after Pre K ends. But who's to say I will even like that daycare.
Have you thought about Pre K if your LO is in daycare full time?

Our daycare offers state PreK and then normal daycare the other hours. All in the same building which is nice. Plus the state covers the tuition for it from 9-12 so the rates go down a bunch.

Our daycare offers pre K and K. We will probably keep him in for both.

I've thought about this and I'm not sure how to make it work either!!! It's hard to shuffle short preschool hours if you need more child care.

Our son's daycare has Pre-K and private Kindergarten. This is an interesting perspective, because all the daycares I've worked in offered preschool in their 3/4/5 rooms and all the preschools I've worked at offered before & after care. I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation.

My dream daycare does offer PreK and kinder too but it's not our school district so we wouldn't qualify.

Our daycare also offers a preschool option, but honestly, right now, he's staying where he is. The preschool is part time.

My daycare has a full day pre K program. If we are still here, I would definitely go that route--everyone raves about it and we have really liked our center so far.

@locavore_mama: no. As longn as they are in the county they can enroll. The state has public and private providers even some home centers.

@littlek: school district may not always be county and often school zones are even smaller/ more restrictive.

@littlek: nope, our county is huge and has tons of districts. Ie even in my town there are at least 3 school districts. Some more competitive than others which in turn drives housing up.

Our daycare does pre-k (full day, same hours as daycare) and then she goes to public school for kindergarden.
