@PrincessBaby: no advice, but 4 weeks!? Blah! Longer than normal isn't it?

@PrincessBaby: when I quit bf'ing cold turkey and LO bottle rejected we tried 8 zillion bottles. Just a silly tip I always try to pass along is sticking your finger in LOs mouth (I used pinky finger) right against/parallel with the bottle nipple. Let my LO get a good latch going then slipped it out! We even switched back to basic bottle we had the most of quantity of and eventually used the finger less and less and it made it so much easier on everyone during the switch! May not work at all, but good luck and thought I'd pass it along

No advice here, just want to say congratulations on sleep training! You persevered and it worked. What does DH do?

I got my period back around 9 months post partum. Hang in there momma, I bet you that it will come back naturally without weaning (we are weaning now at 11.5 months).

I would give it a few more weeks.

I would give it a little more time. I exclusively breastfeed and LO doesn't sleep through the night and my period came back at 7.5 months post partum.

LO has been sleeping through the night 8+ hours since 3-4 months. At 6 months we started doing a bottle of formula a day and have slowly increased over time. At almost 10 months, she breast feeds oncr in the morning and once at night and formula during the day. Still no AF here

If that's really his main reason, its totally possible to get pregnant when you haven't gotten AF back yet! I've heard of several cases. I would wait it out unless its something you are both really sure you want to do.

i don't have any experience with AF coming back before weaning etc, but in reference to the bottle refusal -- our LO who was mostly FF rejected the bottle at that age too (teething pain) and we switched to drinking out of a normal cup (no sippy or straw -- he couldn't figure it out). it was a bit of a pain at first, but after a few weeks he was pretty good at it and now at 14 months can almost drink out of a normal cup on his own if it's not too full :). and he finally got the hang of a straw :).

not saying that this is the best route (i don't think so hehe), but it is an option if other things don't work!

i forgot to say that we began by spooning him the milk first for a while. it definitely was a bit annoying and messy, but we got REALLY fast and i could spoon feed him a whole bottle in the same time it used to take him to drink a bottle then we transitioned him to drinking out of the lip of the cup

I just wanted to add that I know a lot of people that got PG without AF showing up, but since she's recently STTN there's a good chance it will come back soon anyway.

I think you could totally get KU without AF coming back. Just look at Tori Spelling.

How many times a day is H nursing now? Around eight months is when my wee girl started to space out and drop her feeds so combined with STTN you might find that AF comes back in the next while anyway.

Failing that I'd probably try to drop the lunch or daytime feedings first and see how you both feel.

@PrincessBaby: I had been gradually dropping pumping sessions starting at around 8 months so that I could day wean LO (dropped to 2 pumping sessions at 8 months and then 1 at 9 months . . . I wanted to do it slowly due to PPD issues). When I sleep trained her at 9 months, she was only nursing morning and night during the week, and mostly the same on the weekends (although she still naps with a boob in her mouth most of the time . . . ). At almost 10 months exactly, AF came back. And now 1 month later, she is back again exactly right on time. You already know I am older than you . . . I just wanted to share with the hope that it may be encouraging for you.

Oh, annnnnnd, I personally know several women who had a really difficult time getting pregnant with their first, but found it (much) easier the second time around. And none of them were under 30 (I think the youngest was 34). (((hugs)))

@PrincessBaby: you have to do what's right for you and your family. I totally understand where you're coming from and you should be super proud that you've made it almost nine months BFing! H has gotten a great start in life with your BF. I hope that AF comes back for you soon so you can TTC.

Have you tried fertileaid? Go to plusoneplease YouTube page and check out her recent blog titled TTC update July. She talks about how she got her period to return whilst she was nursing. Good luck. Oh and for the bottle: try having your hubs feed her from the bottle or someone else when she is hungry and you are at least 20 feet or more away. Go get a manicure. She WILL take a bottle but she is gonna need to get used to it and at first it might be better coming from someone else. Good luck.
