I had a hard time with Charlie who was never able to get enough milk, had poor latch, etc. so I gave up and pumped exclusively.
But with Olive, it was so easy. She just took to it, I never had any pain or soreness, and 16 months later she is still a little nursing addict.
I know we've all heard all the stories about how difficult breastfeeding can be. But did anyone have an easy time?

I had a very hard time. For a month I cried and gritted my teeth at every feeding. I had over supply and my baby had colic from it. I bared through it and now she is a breastfeeding champ. Now my issue is my supply but I'm supplementing with formula when she is away from me.

I did. I've had a great supply and no issues whatsoever. There was some initial discomfort, but that's to be expected when all of a sudden there's someone attached to you many hours of the day.

Yep, it was really easy for me. I had an over supply, so my letdown was pretty intense, but besides that, no issues.

Not really. P was severely tongue-tied & her pedi & ENT didn't see the point in clipping it so it took 7 weeks for us to find someone on our own. Add that on top of some major oversupply/overactive letdown & her numerous protein intolerances and it took almost 5 months for us to really get into an easy time breastfeeding.

I'm very grateful for how easy it was for us. He latched on perfectly right away, my milk came in within 24 hours, and I never had any pain or discomfort or chapped/bleeding/cracked nipples. The biggest challenge was all mental--how to deal with the fact that I felt like a pacifier, especially the first 6 weeks.

Nope. My milk didn't come in for 5 days (I had crazy blood loss and tons of meds), there were latch issues, I got thrush (there went my pitiful freezer stash), and I have always struggled with my supply (took a hit when I started the mini pill, I don't pump enough to cover all LO's daytime feeds) . . . *augh*

It was so tough the first time and I didn't make it for very long. But with #2 it was so much easier and I made it past the year mark. I did get mastitis twice and have recurrent clogged ducts, but I still don't consider it being difficult since it didn't prevent me from reaching my goal!

I've had a pretty easy time with it so far. LO latched on great from the beginning and I only had a little pain for the first few seconds he latched. I feel no pain now. I've never had any supply issues or clogged duct or mastitis. Only issue I had in the beginning was a forceful let down. LO would unlatch and milk would squirt everywhere.

I had an easy time with B. I was afraid it was going to e difficult because he had to be bottle feed for the first few days of his life because breastfeeding was too hard for him since he was a preemie. However, the first time I tried, when he was about 5 days old, he latched right on. We couldn't breastfeed long because it took a lot of energy for him so we would alternate bottle an breast and he'd go back and forth with no issue.

My second DD it was pure pain for the first 6 weeks. Pain curling pain. We stuck with it and she was EBF for 9 /10 months.
With this LO it has been so easy. No problems at all. Milk came in with 24 hours, latched right after delivery- it has been pretty easy. Hopefully I don't have any suppy issues when I go back to work.

It was easy for me until I got pregnant when LO was 7 months. Then it started to hurt a lot and is requiring me to eat an absurd amount of food and I'm exhausted. 
I'm about to start supplementing with formula a few times a week, but hopefully I'll make it a few more months until LO is a year!

I feel fortunate to have had an easy time breastfeeding, I hope we can continue our nursing relationship for quite a while. LO is 5.5 months.

It has been incredibly easy for us. LO has a great latch & she is the nursing queen. Her first ten days of life she received pumped breastmilk because she was in the NICU. I thought she wouldn't latch on properly since breastfeeding wasn't introduced to her right away, but she did and it's been easy peasy since!

Nope. Tongue tie, lip tie, vasospasms, forceful letdown...thank goodness, at around 8.5/9wks things got much smoother.

Yup, other than getting mastitis once it's been very easy. Although LO has been starting to bite lately and that's making things a little painful.

I did... my milk came in on day 2, and he had a great latch. It was uncomfortable for the first week or two, but that didn't last long. I've been back to work for 7 months and I worry a lot about my supply, but I've always been able to provide him BM and really shouldn't stress as much as I do.

I've had an okay time. In the beginning, my supply didn't come in right away. Once it came in, he's been a stellar nurser. Now after being back to work for 3 months, my issue is supply. Pumping has been exhausting. He gets plenty of nutrition in the morning and night with me nursing. I struggle with pumping enough for him during the day. I'm doing More Milk Plus, lots of water, etc. We may supplement a bottle of formula a day if I can't keep up with his demand. I'm close to my 6 month goal.

@CascadeMom: Pumping has been tough for us too. I supplemented on and off when I went back to work in December, but now I need to supplement every day (I do 3 oz of BM, and 1.5 oz of formula per bottle). BabyGloss is 5.5 months, so I will reassess when we hit the 6 month mark. It has been a draining (and defeating) process.

@MsLipGloss: Yeah, I didn't expect pumping to be so draining and sometimes defeating when you're not producing enough for a day. We're exactly a week away from 6 months, so we're going to talk about it from there. His 6 month appt isn't until next month, so we'll talk to our peds about it as well.

In the beginning, I thought it was hard but everyone (LCs, Nurses, DH, Mom, etc) assured me I was doing it right. Looking back at it, I didn't have any real physical problems - I just didn't know what to expect! DS latched great, ate well, gained weight, and I've had no supply issues (some over-supply but it regulated quickly). I'm pumping now and have to pump many times a day, but I can cover the next day's bottles. I've had some plugged ducts, but no mastitis yet, so I feel very fortunate!
Like @FutureMrsMcK:, I think all my issues have been mental. Being chained to the pump so often, having to worry about when/if I can have a glass of wine, & being the sole giver of food can be intense. I do want to go for a year though (DS is 4.5 months), so I hope it continues to go well!

I did! She latched right away, and I had plenty of milk to spare. In fact, that was my only issue with breastfeeding: what to do with my over supply. I ended up donating my freezer stash to the local milk-bank. 14 months later, she's still going strong.

Yes, breastfeeding was surprisingly easy for us. I even gave my nipple cream away because it didn't really hurt me. The worst of it was when I had some engorgement and plugged ducts, but those went away quickly. I really hope I can have the same experience again the second time around! I really loved breastfeeding and I was kind of sad when we weaned.

Thankfully it has gone very well for us- she latched on perfectly right away, despite a slight tongue tie. My supply has dropped a bit since returning to work, but she is thriving and in 94th % for weight, so she must be getting what she needs.
