This has been mentioned to me by my OB and others. As I wait on pins and needles at 38+6 for baby to come, I'm wondering if it was true for you? Did baby's movements slow down 1-2 days before birth?

Wondering the same thing! I don't think there was any noticeable change in movement with my DD though...

Nothing considerable. DD was a big baby. Ended up being bigger than we expected. By a LOT. So towards the end I noticed a lot less movement for awhile.

I went to L&D at 38 weeks exactly because I didn't feel DS1 move for like 12 hours. My water broke at 38w5d, although I never had contractions and had to be induced. So sorta?

No, and my doctor always said that the baby shouldn't slow down, that can be a sign of fetal distress.

Nope and I was the same as Rescuemom10 with a big 9.14 baby who moved around a lot even at 42 weeks. Probably could have gotten bigger I guess. She was somehow finding space in my stomach. She was rudely evicted via induction then c section.

Yes, J definitely did. I told my OB who did increased fetal monitoring (it ended up being basically a whole day), he was totally fine in there and I went into labor less than 24 hours later

Yep. Doctor told me it was normal. She was a pretty big baby and I'm fairly petite, so I think she was running out of room. She didn't move much at all when I was in early labor, but that could be because I was soothing her to sleep by pacing!

Nope, she was active and moving pretty much until she was too far down to move anymore. Which didn't feel good during contractions! But it was comforting since it was preterm labor with unexplained bleeding. I knew she was at least somewhat okay because she wouldn't stop wiggling!

Her movements never slowed down in the days leading up and my OB actually advised if there was a sudden decrease in movement to come in for monitoring as something may be wrong with the baby.

@Autumnmama79: I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how things are going. Looking forward to a a baby update hopefully soon!

Yep. I could still get enough kicks for kick counts but it definitely took longer. After I mentioned to my Ob I had a couple hours of NSTs. DD ended up being fine but extra sleepy. My water broke the next day. For my son it happened as well and I went into labor a couple days later

LO1 was induced but I don't remember LO2 slowing down at all. He never moved that much though.

@Happygal: hey thanks for checking in! I'd say baby has slowed down since early evening yesterday. But also seems pretty snug (and still up high in my belly!) so I'll just keep waiting and wondering if any little twinge could be a sign
