I'd love to give little tastes of things off my plate to let LO try, but nothing is healthy enough to give her. Or it is too salty. Or something else unhealthy. Gross! It is really giving me a boost to clean up my food intake.

Yes! Once DS started eating what we eat we have definitely cleaned up our diets. Combine that with regularly working out and I have lost 10lbs! I still need to lose 10-15 more to be at my happy weight but still. Small steps!

Sort of...because we practice BLW when we decided he was ready for solids I had to take a hard look at what we were eating and make adjustments. Less butter, less salt, more whole grains and vegetables, etc. We didn't eat horribly before but I was never scared of butter and salt--those were the big things. Now we just salt things at the table after I've served up DS, lol.

Yes. We feel bad when there isn't much he can have and that's when we know we need to rethink dinner. We've gotten much better!

Yes, but we're still working on it. We do BLW and deconstruct our meals for our guy. When the pediatrician asked how solids were going, I said "Oh, he eats what we eat." and she said "Do you eat healthy?" Hahaha, I love her!
He gets purees when our meals aren't healthy enough (like take-out night), but I'm happy that is happening less & less!

Definitely. I've particularly been working tools out main meal healthy and good for M. The rest of my day's intake could still use some work.

Not even preg yet, but reminding myself that if I plan to do BLW I'll have my kids eating what I eat from very early is one of my tactics for convincing myself to eat better. (Well, sort of. I had a hotdog (nitrite free and uncured!) for lunch, with doritos and sweet tea. Not really awesome.)

Not really, but kinda. I said I was going to feed her healthy food, so I had to cook healthy food. Plus I wasn't going to cook two meals. lol

I have started to reassess but haven't completely changed them yet. I've been trying to sub veggies for fries, eliminate mayo, etc.
We're in packing mode right now but once we move I resolve to make healthy meals all 3 of us can eat.

@wheres_c: It doesn't help when restaurants are out of cooked baked potatoes, that's for sure!

What a good concept. Also, sorry if dumb question, but what's BLW?

Yup. And especially now that she is old enough to open the fridge, freezer, and pantry! So I don't have a lot of junk in the house.

Once LO started eating solids, I had to change the way we were eating. We eat more protein, veggies, and fruits than before, and we avoid eating too much carbs. It's a healthier way of eating for all of us. It's a pain to cook separate meals so we all eat the same foods at meal time.
