I did the first time...and got pregnant (but had a blighted ovum). I'm gearing up for a FET in a few weeks...and feeling a bit ambivalent about going back for more acupuncture..
What did you do? Was that cycle successful?

I didn't. I went for 1 session thinking I was going to do it. It was too expensive though.

Nope, for none of our IVF transfers. Hasn't affected implantation, so far.

I did it for 3 Iui cycles that were bfns and my IVF which was a bfp. I really enjoyed going, mostly from a relaxation standpoint.

@FliegepilzHut: You already know that I did for my fresh cycle which was successful. I think it is important to find a practitioner that is familiar with acupuncture techniques which have been studied and have been shown to increase success rates. Look up the German method

The only two cycles I did it, I got BFNs. I found the process more stressful than therapeutic since they wanted me to come in at very specific points in my cycle and the clinic was not convenient to my house. But if it keeps you calm, I would do it.

I have done acupuncture for years even prior to TTC to help with endometriosis pain. I then used it for TTC and for my first successful round of IVF.
Even though acupuncture alone didn't ward off my endo, or get me pregnant naturally I am such a believer in its benefits that I had to continue with IVF. Plus it can be a relaxing thing during a stressful time. With that being said, the couple people I know IRL who have done IVF got pregnant on their first cycles and never got acupuncture so there can absolutely be success without it.

I've been doing it for the past 2 years for all of my past IUIs and it felt natural to continue it for IVF.
I think acupuncture helps me emotionally, too. So it's for my own sanity that I continue it. Also, it helps that my insurance covers my sessions. It makes me sad that I might get a job that doesn't cover acupuncture.
I had my ER last week and my FET won't be until late January. Hoping IVF with acupuncture is what I need to get my BFP.

@bluestriped bee: FX for you!!! I think I would have a lot less ambivalence if it were covered.
BTW-- I only got acupuncture during my stims (due to difficulty with logistics). My last treatment was almost a week before my retrieval....and post-transfer I never made it back.

I've done it for my last four cycles and got BFPs for two. I still believe in it, and it helps me with stress and also with giving me someone to talk to about how I'm coping. I love my sessions. I hate paying the $85 a session, of course, but I've started up the weekly appts again for this IVF cycle. I'll probably go three times pre-retrieval, and then have pre- and post-transfer sessions on transfer day, since those are the most important. I'd at least try to do transfer day, if I were you, as the stats are so encouraging for how it helps with implantation.

I voted yes/BFP, but the reality is actually:
1st time yes/BFN
2nd time yes/BFP
3rd time no/BFN
4th time yes/??
