I did acupuncture prior to TTC and during TTC. I love it, i think its important to find someone who specializes in infertility or women's health issues. Mine just wanted me to go x1/week. I also took herbs based on my charts ect. I know 2 people who got pregnant after years on not being able to by using acupuncture. For me it didnt help me get preggo naturally but it def helped in the IVF process as well and got pregnant that way,

I went for several months and liked it a lot. I did get pregnant the first full month I went (I took herbs too), but it ended in MC for unrelated issues.

I swear by it, I didn't even have periods before starting acupuncture and now I have regular cycles which led to two pregnancies, one resulting in my gorgeous girl. I go every week for the whole cycle and drink herbs too.

Acupuncture is great. I was into my 20th month of TTC when I started acupuncture during a medicated cycle break. Month 21 & I just got my BFP! My acupuncturist specializes in fertility & goes over the purpose of each treatment & how the needle points will help my body in creating a nice & warm place for a baby to grow. I would suggest finding someone who does specialize in fertility & you get a good feeling from. Also, doesn't hurt to make sure they are licensed as well:

Wow! Thank you very much, ladies! It is quite the investment to go once a week, but of course the alternative would be even greater! I have found one in my area that does specialize in fertility issues and is licensed so I may give it a try (as long as I can convince DH the money is worth it!). I'm currently in CD 31 with elevated temps and crossing my fingers, but I like to have a game plan to ease the disappointment if AF does hit me.
Thanks again, @lazypanda, @travelgirl1, @Mrs.Pinecone316, and @Mrs.Someone!

@Mum: Have you checked to see if insurance will help cover it? My insurance company will as long as I was referred by a doctor. I'm in the process of looking for an acupuncturist myself and think I have found one, I just need to wait until I'm in to see my OB for my IUI to see if she'll refer me.
Good luck!!

I did acupuncture for extremely long cycles and short AF (1 day), in combo with seeing a naturopath and I got my bfp after going once a week for 3 months. I agree with the ladies above that you should try and find someone that specializes in fertility as they know way more and can give you other advice about your diet and lifestyle. Good luck!

@sarahnicole218: I am going to look into insurance covering it, and get my OBGYN on board with a referral- good plan!
@Annette: thanks!

I've been doing acupuncture for a while now - before TTC, while TTC and now that I'm pregnant. It's worked wonders for me. Before acupuncture my immune system was shocking - I would get a cold or a virus or sore throat at least once a month - but after a month or two of acupuncture this all stopped. My insurance covers 20 visits a year without a referral. I usually go every other week but when TTC I went weekly. I got pregnant after just two active cycles, despite 40-50 day cycles with delayed ovulation. I honestly don't think I would have got pregnant without the acupuncture!
I will say that it's important to find the right practitioner - if you try it and don't like it, try someone else - sometimes it takes a couple of tries to find someone who you click with.
