My labor spontaneously began at 38+5 with my daughter and I'm currently impatiently waiting for baby #2 at 38+2. I don't feel like this baby is coming out anytime soon so I'm afraid I might be waiting awhile...
How did your delivery dates compare?

38+6 for DD1
40+5 for DD2
It felt like an eternity because everyone said I would go even earlier !

#1 - 37+5
#2 - 38+5
Luckily that week didn't feel too long, I had prodromal labor for a couple day prior so I knew he was probably coming soon.

#1: labor augmented at 40 +9
#2: spontaneous labor at 40 +4
Good luck!! The "hurry up and wait" part of pregnancy is so hard.

I don't know how you guys know down to the day haha.

#1: induced at 42 weeks
#2: spontaneous labour at 39+5
#3: tbd in two months. Hopefully like #2!
I know two people who went on their due date/ a few days early with #1 and then went 5+ days overdue with #2.

@charm55: Oh man - I don't think I can handle another two weeks of pregnancy! Everyone has been telling me I'll go even earlier this time also and I have a feeling that's not going to happen.

#1 spontaneous labor at 40+2 (did have a sweep at 40+1)
#2 spontaneous labor at 40+6 (had a sweep that afternoon but was already in early labor)
Those extra days were an eternity but I had an extremely smooth, fast labor so I'm hindsight I would deal with the extra days again hands down
Eta my midwives all agreed that it's 50\50 that you'll go later with your second rather than earlier

I think evidencebasedbirth.com says that your 2nd labor statistically is most likely to start 5 days earlier than your 1st labor.
Mine was 2 weeks earlier.

LO#1 spontaneous labor at 40w+5
LO#2 spontaneous labor at 41w
They're similar, but I felt those two extra days for real! I also did not elect for a membrane sweep with my first and had two with my second so I'm not sure if I would have gone even longer without that. Thankfully I didn't since there was meconium in my fluid when my water broke before contractions started the second time. First time, water didn't break until I was pushing.

Love the info! I went into spontaneous labor with #1 at exactly 38 weeks. I think that was the perfect time - Full Term but not expecting it so I didn’t have the dreaded wait at the end. Hoping Baby #2 follows a similar pattern, although I’m sure I’ll be doomed to go way later because when do we ever get the labor we want?

I went into labour at 37+6! I had no warning. No Braxton hicks or anything.

So interesting that the majority went later with #2! Seems like the prevailing theory is that second kids come earlier on average.

I went into labor three days earlier with #2. My first was born at 40+3, and my second on my due date.

LO1: spontaneous labor at 39+3 (delivered 39+4)
LO2: induction for postdates at 40+5
No idea what's in the cards for LO3!

First baby 37w & second was 36w - no issues either time, they were just in a hurry

LO1: 38+2 completely out of the blue
LO2: 39+6 after a membrane sweep because I couldn’t stand waiting any longer after everyone assured me I’d go early again.

Lo1: 41 + 1 weeks. Induced. Ended in csection.
Lo2: 37 +6 weeks. Spontaneous super fast labor. So fast that they didn’t have time to give me epidural. So med free birth.
Lo3: 41+1 already dilated at 5cm. Induced at lowest dosage possible (bc I had previous csec, induction wasn’t technically allowed but my doctor did it anyway). Had an epidural, natural delivery.
I voted yes and no. My lo2 came super fast after first took forever. But then my third was just as slow. Lo 1 and 3 are girls so only the boy was spontaneous early labor.

DD1 was born on her due date. DD2 was induced at 41 weeks after I begged for an induction and finally qualified for one. Otherwise I think she might've never come out.

Kid 1: spontaneous (stalled, required induction) at not quite 37
Kid 2: spontaneous, fast and furious at 39 (after membrane sweep at my OB)
Kid 3: induced around 37

My first I was induced at 37+2 for cholestasis.
My 2nd I went into labor fast and furious at 36 weeks on the nose. I often wonder if I went into labor so early because I was induced at 37 weeks the first time.

All my labors were spontaneous.
#LO1: 39+2 water broke and contractions began, entire labor from water breaking to baby in arms was 29 hours.
#LO2: 39+3 water broke and contractions began, entire labor from water breaking to baby in arms was 4 hours.
#LO3: 38+5 started with contractions, water broke 5 mins before delivery, active labor was about 2 hours.
Eeeeek you are so so close!

My first labor started on 41+3 and he was born on 41+4.
My twins were induced on 37+2. They were born about 11 hours after we started the pit drip.

I was induced with both. My son I had labor signs the day of induction. He was my first. My daughter (second baby) was stubborn and never showed signs.

I didn't vote in the poll, but I went into spontaneous labour at 38w1d with my first, and was induced at exactly 38 weeks with #2, so I guess it would have been the same or later!
