I'm planning to start weaning LO once he's reached a year. He still wakes up once a night to nurse. I'm hoping once he's done nursing, he'll just sleep! What was your experience?

I think i will probably help, but there will be lots of tears at the start. My LO was STTN before I weaned, but I had to work really hard to get her to skip waking once a night! Good luck!

Both of my kids STTN at 12 months but continued to nurse during the day

Night weaning equalled sleep through the night for us. We did that around a year. We still nurse during the day.

DS STTN around 5-6 mo and we weaned around 12 mo.

We had to night wean/ST before she STTN consistently. Happened at 13 months. Still BFing during the day though.

Nope. She's weaned and still wakes at night often enough.

YES. At 17 months, we weaned and she started sleeping through the night! It was glorious. Both things.

DD started STTN (with sleep training) at 9 months, but had a relapse when we weaned because she was still adjusting to the changed caloric intake. That only lasted about 2 weeks.

Oh goodness, I hope so! We still nurse am and pm and LO (16 months old) still wakes up an avearge of 2 times each night. We plan to wean fully by 18 months and I hope that STTN comes with this!

My LO started sleeping through the night by 6-8 weeks, but I didn't wean her from breastmilk until 13 months. For her, there wasn't a correlation between breastfeeding and STTN. However, I'm not brave enough to try to wean her from her paci yet!
