DS will be three weeks Sunday and we've been using a nipple shield while my poor bleeding/cracked nips heal and then we relearn to latch without the shield. It is easy (relatively speaking) to BF this way in the comfort of our home half naked/with a cover in front of friends/with pillows, but I can imagine it would be an ordeal while out and about.

Have you ever BFed in public with shield? Any advice to make it as streamlined as possible? I feel somewhat quarantined in our home while we figure this out!
