I bf'ed DS until just past a year. Considering I didn't think I'd have a chance at all to BF (just family history, ftm fears, etc.) I made it wayy longer than I'd ever expected and hit all my short/long term goals, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months.

With my 1st - longer - I planned for 1 year but lasted 20 months
With my 2nd it was shorter - I was willing to go to age 2 but she self weaned at 15 months

Longer. My long-term goal was a year, and in the beginning, I couldn't imagine the next feedings, never mind making it to my goal. Yet now here we are at 14 months still going strong and nursing 4x a day!

LONGER! I made a goal of 6 months, but I honestly never thought I'd continue past 12 weeks when I returned to work and I always had the thought of "I'll give this BFing thing a try, but if it doesn't work out, I'm not going to fret over it" and then I became CRAZY DETERMINED to make it work! We're still BFing now at 11 months!

Longer. I was really nervous about if BFing would work for me or not, so making it to 13 months made me happy! I was the one who weaned so I'm sure it would have went longer.

Longer. I had hoped to make it to 12 months. Here we are at almost 13, and I am still nursing at wake up and bedtime. Half of me want to wean completely over the next couple of months, but half of me really cherishes our BFing bond. I guess I was kind of hoping that DD would give it up on her own, but that is *not* happening.

Longer, since we're still nursing at almost 16 months!

Longer. NEVER in my wildest dreams would I think I will still be BFing at almost 22 months.

Shorter with LO 1! A surprise pregnancy killed my supply.
I want to make it to a year with LO 2 and any other LOs.

Shorter with first - ended up pumping! But much longer with second - 26 months when I thought I'd wean between 12-15 months!

Longer. I hit all of my short-term goals (6w, 3m, 6m, 9m) and my long-term goal of 1 years. I figured anything past that would just be lagniappe. He ended up weaning at 15 months (because he was sick...but we were down to one session so it probably wouldn't have lasted much longer after that anyway...)

Longer and shorter at the same time? I made short term goals of 3/6/9/12 months but once I passed that 12 month mark, I really wanted to BF until DD self weaned. I ended up weaning her around 14.5 months due to a peanut allergy and difficulties of me avoiding peanut products at my work place. Still very happy with my experience!!! I'm going to set short term goals with LO#2 too and hopefully make it to a year.

Longer. I had hoped for a year. She's almost two and still nurses 2x a day and 3x on the weekends.

My goal was 6mths, though I'm not sure I ever expected to get that far. We are a week shy of 5mths and we're still hanging on with 1-2 feeds per day, just!

Shorter, I had a terrible work place pumping/stress situation and already had supply issues and was overwhelmed and gave up at 5 months.

between extreme colic, ppd and my work schedule (12 hour shifts, rotating between days and nights) we only made it 3 months. I hope to BF longer in the future.

I set a goal of 6 months and that is when I started to wean.

Longer. We're 13 months and going strong. I had hoped to hit 12 months. Not sure what the plan is though.

Longer. I didn't want to bf at all but figured I'd give it a shot at the hospital. 11 months later and still breastfeeding!

Longer! Much longer (15 months nursing morning and night).
@lovehoneybee: I love when you use the word *lagniappe*! I had an aunt from Louisiana who taught me what that meant (a little something extra/special), and it makes me smile every time I read it!

I breastfed until a year (well, almost, one more week!), which is exactly what I expected. I'm really pleased overall with my breastfeeding/pumping journey.

Longer. We are down to 1 session/day at 14 months.

Longer! I'm amazed to still be going strong at almost 10 months! Should reach my dream goal of 12 months just fine!

Longer because I'm the first to BF in my family, and you hear all these stories of struggles and pain, etc. I was super nervous; and didn't think I'd make it. So far, we're doing good!

Way longer! I bf dd for 14.5 months. I didn't think it was possible as a WOHM

Longer. I remember when I was pregnant and reading WHO recommendations that said 2 years for BF and thinking, whoa that's intense, I'll aim for more like 10-12 months. But LO needed lots of convincing to stop, she was over 2 and I was pregnant. I never saw that one coming.

I wanted a year minimum, but was open to two years. I made it to 18 months before pregnancy #2 made it too uncomfortable. I'm pretty happy with that timing and will probably aim for that again.

because I wasn't sure if breastfeeding would work for us I was hoping to make it to 6 months. Ended up weaning at 13 months. Hoping to go 18 months for future babies though.

Shorter and longer. Before I had DD, my goal was a year. We had breastfeeding problems from the start though, so within the first few days I changed my goal to six months of breastfeeding or pumping. I made it to 7 and a half months of exclusive pumping. My plan is to stop completely in about a week.

Way longer. I wanted to bf for 6 months, and really didn't think I'd go beyond that. Still nursing morning and night at 15.5 months.

Longer. I didn't want to BF at all but my husband really wanted me to give it a try so I did. It ended up being pretty easy for us for the most part so we are still going strong at 4.5 months. My plan is to keep going until one (or both) of us doesn't want to do it anymore.

Shorter with DS. Didn't expect him to self wean! Planned on going for at least 18 months.
