usually your RE has a list of things they require before IVF, i know for mine, an up to date physical was one of those things. we weren't unexplained IF, but it was required just the same.

I didn't have any a physical, but I don't think it's a bad idea! Especially if you have any chronic medical issues or concerns, it's probably worthwhile to have an overall check-up (but moreso pre-pregnancy than pre-IVF).

I didn't have a full physical, but that's because I had so many appointments and tests run through the RE's office. They did make me do a small physical to clear me for retrieval before each of my cycles. My RE had a whole list of tests she needed to do before I started IVF.

The clinic here makes you have an HSG, blood work (there's a list of things they check for), ultrasounds, and a regular physical exam before moving onto IVF.

@winter_wonder: would having one be a problem? my PCP books really far out, so it can be tricky if i need one quickly, but they can do them at my RE's office when needed. it might just be an ins thing, some ins might require it prior to authorization.
