I did during the last stages of pushing, but my body apparently found it so constricting that it was making me gag (side note: along with everything else. I'm still a little bit surprised I didn't just give birth completely nude), so my FIL was holding it up to my face between contractions!

As a side note, I gave birth to DD2 completely nude.

No oxygen mask for me. But I'm also pretty sure I was nude! My gown was definitely wide open.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: @Tidybee: Looking back I'm not sure why mine wasn't. Admittedly, my mother, MIL and FIL were all in there, but there wasn't anything hidden after or anything...I didn't care. My MIL even took the first breastfeeding photos, in which I was completely topless, so it wasn't a modesty thing. I think maybe it just didn't occur to me that I could, lol? Next time...

Yes... I wore one for hours in hopes that might help with his HR dips. I'm not sure it really did a whole lot though. I never made it to the pushing stage, but I could totally see how it would be annoying. I hated wearing it around my head so I just held it up.

Yes...I pushed for 2.5 hours and the last hour or so they had me wear one to steady babys heart rate

I had oxygen on for quite awhile after getting a dose of stadol after 25 hours of labor. I was so tired and had been in so much pain for so long then got the stadol and got so relaxed and sleepy I wasn't breathing. So strange.
ETA I didn't need it while pushing.

Yes towards the end when her heart rate was dropping. I asked if it was going to make me high, apparently confusing it for laughing gas or something.
And I have no idea what I was wearing during pushing. It's so weird. Have to ask Dh.
Eta: yup confirmation. Totally naked while pushing. I remembering reading birth stories thinking that was so weird and in usually fairly modest. Not in labor I guess.

During the last hour or so of pushing and when DD was being born. I just remember sobbing into that mask when she was finally out and screaming. It turned into an emergency c section for DS and I was so drugged/tired that I have no idea if the mask was still on. Probably?

Yes. It was to help with LOs heart rate I think. I hated how loud it seemed. It really frustrated me because the midwife wore a face mask (hospital policy for no flu shot). I couldn't hear her over the oxygen or read her lips through the mask. I totally missed the direction to push. I yelled "I can't hear you, speak up!" It was the only yelling I did during my long long labor. I took the mask off to hear better but they put it back on me. My doula and DH ended up repeating everything the midwife said. That seemed to annoy the midwife but I genuinely could not hear her and she would not speak loud enough. The oxygen mask on its own probably wouldn't have bothered me much.

Yes right after my epi my BP dropped too low and they said the baby wasn't tolerating it the best. Only wore it for an hour, it did help LO. I took it off to push and 20 minutes later LO was born .

Thankfully, no. I don't think I ever felt short of breath. I think that's because the pushing went so quickly. I can't imagine doing that for hours though. Y'all are amazing.

I had it at the very end. I was fussing more about that than anything else. I was so hot & the mask felt like it was making it harder to breathe.

I think I got it during the last couple pushes , I know I had it afterwards because of how much blood I lost. Honestly the last 45 minutes are blurry!

I had to wear one in labor for a while but I'm not sure if I had to wear it while pushing! I think I might have for a little while, I had to push for 2 hours, but I know I puked all over the place so I think I might have stopped wearing it then.

Yes and it sucked! I started crying when I had to wear it, but at that point I'd been in labor for 20 hours and I was so over it! They let me take it off for pushing, thank god.

I did because getting an IV in stressed me out (I hate needles) and LO's heart rate was all over the place. They actually took it away right before I started pushing and said I was using it too much and to focus on pushing. They also gave me a cold, wet cloth, which actually helped a ton and I used to squeeze/bite while pushing.

Yes but only because I was too tired to argue. There is NO evidence that it is helpful to the baby, at all, that I've seen. In fact there is some evidence pointing the other way.
In the past I've asked doctors why they do it, and the reply is "Well it won't hurt, right?" -

Yes, his heart rate was dropping and nothing was working to get it back up so they put the oxygen on me. I definitely needed it though - I have a weird condition where even under normal circumstances I don't breathe in as much oxygen as the average person, so I was getting shaky and light-headed from lack of it.
By that point I'd been awake for a crazy long time, over a day, and was totally delirious and they had just upped the amount of medication I was getting to c-section levels. We had been watching Dark Knight Rises before heading into the hospital, and I kept telling everyone the mask made me feel like Bane. And telling DH that he had 'a lovely, lovely voice.' Yep, even in labor I'm a nerd who tells bad jokes.
