our hospital offers a ton of classes and seminars. we're currently signed up for an infant CPR course and the hospital tour. there are a few different birthing classes, but i'm not sure i want/need that. did you take a birthing class? if so, did it help/was it worth your time?

yup, we just took one last saturday. i could've gone without it, but dh liked/learned a lot; for that reason alone i'm glad we took it!

I took a childbirth class. It went over epis, natural birth, and some meds inbetween. I was so glad I took the class. I knew I wanted an epi but this made me feel better about my decision and feel like I was making an informed decision ..... plus I was glad to know different ways of easing pain for a natural childbirth both for before I went to the hospital while laboring at home and in case my epi failed me.

We didn't. We chose to hire a doula instead.

We're doing hypnobabies home study course, and we'll be taking a cpr course.
Since I'm a doula, I don't think it's necessary to take any other birth classes, I already know what I'm in for.. ha! -
The first time I didn't but knew that I would probably end up with a c-section so it was less critical. This time, if everything goes well I might take a class since I would ideally like to try for a vbac.

@photojane: there was a short 30 min video (i def could've done without that), took a hosp tour, most of it was lecture by the nurse pract (who we really liked) and her showing us demonstrations with a baby doll.

I didn't take any classes to prepare for LO. Decided to just wing it.

Yup, we took a childbirth class and they included a hospital tour. I didn't think the childbirth class was that helpful. I wish I would have taken a breast feeding class.
I took a CPR/first aid class a few months ago when L was four months old.
