Just curious. We're playing with purees right now but I'm just offering things we're eating like banana or avocado or sweet potato. If you used jarred baby food, when did you start using it and why?

I only made baby food a few times. She mostly ate what we ate at home but I sent jarred food to daycare (starting at 6 months) since they weren't comfortable with table food until 10 months. We used Earth's Organics!

We only used jarred food for emergencies, like I would leave one or two at daycare in case DD needed more food. We made our own otherwise.

We pretty much stuck to jarred food because it was easier. Pop open the jar and you're good to go. This time around we'll probably stick to pouches because they're even easier! I justified it by using organic baby food. We started with rice and oatmeal cereals at 5 months and started on vegetables around 6 months, I think?

We didn't do purees for very long long at all, but during that time we used pouches to supplement the homemade purees. Mainly for on the go and day care backup food. LO liked the Sprout brand the best.

I made all of lo's food. I did it in big batches and stuck it in the freezer.

We're using mostly jars and pouches. I make some of her food, but only if it's super easy. I like the idea of making all of her food, but hopefully she'll soon start eating more and more of what we're eating and that won't be too hard. We've been using the jars and pouches because they're so easy. I figure that with nursing and cloth diapering, we can afford to be a little less "crunchy" and buy some baby food I also justify it by using organic!

we didnt, but Liv skipped purees altogether. I made a whole bunch with the Babycook I got at my shower, but she didnt like the texture so we went to BLW

I use jars for things I cant/shouldn't make myself-peas, green beans, spinach, carrots, ect. But, if I feed her a jar of peas, I also feed her homemade sweet potatoes and apples. So I mix it up!

we have been doing purees for a month now and its all homemade with my blender. I use 4oz canning jars to store them and also the mumi & bubi trays. So far its been pretty good

Jars (earth's best)...b/c I don't have the time or energy to make our own food.

when we feed purees, we use mostly homemade, but do jars for some of the things like green beans and prunes, which i don't care to make myself!

We use the pouches and also give him things we're eating for some BLW.

We made our own so we never used jarred. It's SO easy to make and you end up saving money!

we've made him 2 batches of purees an that's it. we like the ease and convenience of the jars/pouches. just starting to give him our food so that should cut down on what we have to buy.

I also make all of LO's food, and haven't tried any of the pouches/jars yet.

I was totally into making my own food, but I kept the pouches around for when I was in a hurry, as backup in my bag, stuff like that. I love them!

I used jarred food when we went out for long periods of time. LO didnt' like jarred food. She wasn't a big solids gal until she turned 1.

Nope... it was just cheaper and easier to make the food at home. Initially he would eat half an avocado or half a banana. But now that he's older he eats the same foods we eat and isn't on purees anyway.

We bought the organic stuff. I know everyone says it's easy to make and cheap, but I was willing to pay for the even easier convenience of not having one more thing to worry about

We use jars and pouches and homemade. We started with stage 1 jars and pouches like pears, sweet potatoes, etc.. Then moved on to stage 2 and 3, mixed foods. LO is 10 months and still has no teeth, so we're still not doing super chunky foods yet.

We did BLW for the most part, but I did buy a few jars when we went on a long road trip and wanted to make sure we had food LO could eat. He hated them though!

We use a lot of jars and pouches of organic baby food. I often mash up avacado or puree a sweet potato... but then I started realizing that DH wasn't feeding DD b/c making a puree was too much work for him. So we bought a whole pile of packaged baby food once we got really serious about doing solid foods each day. Now DH feeds the baby all the time!

We just started with Plum organics pouches. DD is CRAZY about them (we've just done prunes) ...she doesn't like purée's I make (squash and avocado)

I made most of DS's food but kept pouches/jars on hand in case we went out. I really loved the Sprout brand pouches!

Tip - trader joes has awesome fruit pouches for super cheap. Mott's apple sauce brand also makes some apple based kinds. There's a ton of variety in fruit/veggie only, no sugar pouches. I love them so much! I just gave away the rest of my stash to another mom, and I was kind of sad about it. Such cute little packages and such fun food.
