I've been able to breastfeed both babies. We're in the maybe 3 camp, but as DS2 gets closer to the 1 year mark, I wonder if I'll want to nurse longer with him, if we decide to be done with two kids!

I nursed E for 15 months, and I was really happy with that. I can see myself nursing G longer, though, I think in part because I work this time. I could nurse E all day and night, but it's a nice time to connect with G.

I really wanted to nurse my second longer but I was so done pumping at work...it dried me up though

A is 15.5 months and we're still nursing. I feel like i don't really have much, and he's getting frustrated at the lack of supply. I really want to stop now, but i feel guilty since i nursed his older sister until about 20 months.

I really wanted to nurse my second (and last) longer, but he had double ear infections and went on a nursing strike at 12.5 months that we never recovered from.

Our twins are going to be our only kids, so the thought of weaning them makes me very emotional. I never thought I'd be nursing two almost 2 year olds, especially on the days where they are biting me, pinching my nipples, or fighting with each other over who gets the good side. But this is the only nursing experience I'm ever going to have and I'm so proud of the three of us for going this long. I don't think I want to go much past 2, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to stop nursing forever!

I weaned DS at 20 months - I was so over it!
DD was such a sweet relaxed nurser I wanted to nurse her forever.... sadly she self weaned around 15 months

NO. I'm going to wean this baby the moment she lets me. She's not that into nursing, she bites me, she rolls around while still latched. Nope nope nope. And it makes me gain weight.

I expected to want to go longer but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. We're planning on two and through. DS is almost 13 months and I'm almost over nursing. I think part of it is that I have latched onto the thought that he will sleep through the night once he's weaned. That's probably a false hope but I can't help it.

I've been nursing or pregnant since April 2012 with a two week break between nursing DD1 and pregnant with DD2.
I don't know if I'll nurse longer but at this point I think I'll just let them self wean. My body hasn't been my own for so long, what's a few more months.

@sarac: Ugh, that's what i'm going through right now. He will bite my nipple or pull back as he is nursing. Gah!!

DD weaned around 21 months. My doc wanted me to wean since I was pregnant (which I disagree with) but I was drying up anyways and it was painful. We were down to very short session as it was, so I just kind of distracted her a few days in a row and that was that. I hope to go as long as my next wants to!

I nursed DD1 until she was 26 months when I weaned her due to pregnancy. Hope to be able to nurse DD2 longer, but as long as we make it to 1, I'll be happy.

No. I'm at 9 months with #2 and I'm over it. I've had mastitis 3 times with this one (5 total) and a few other clogged ducts. I hate packing for two kids and a breast pump every day and schlepping all that stuff to and from the car.

I wanted to nurse him until he was 2, but he wanted to stop at 10.5 months, so I pumped until his 1st birthday and we were done!!!

No....only because I've been nursing for 4 years, so I am ready to be done as soon as she is.

I doubt it. I thought about going longer with DD2 but now in pregnant and don't want to tandem nurse so I'll likely start weaning when she turns 1 next month. She's not that attached to nursing anyway. I have no idea what the future holds with #3.

I wanted to go as long as DD wanted and she self-weaned at 18 months on the dot. I was starting to feel "done" around 14 months, but I'm glad we went longer. I think for the new baby I'll try to go 18 months again.

@twodoghouse: haha! There's totally "a good side", isn't there? It never occurred to me that twins would have to compete for it. Thanks for this sweet peak at nursing twins.

DS1 nursed until he was about 27 months. I never thought he'd wean because it was such a nice way for us to connect when I wasn't at work. Well, getting pregnant (and sick as a dog) with DS2 cured me of that right quick! Neither of us had the emotional breakdown I was anticipating.
I want to nurse DS2 (my last) until he's ready to wean, but I have a feeling I'll be less anxious about it this time since I've done it already. I can imagine nursing for less than 27 months this time, if DS2 seems ready. Also, If he nurses until he's two, I'll have been nursing or pregnant for almost six years straight! Maybe I'll be over it?

Yes, but because he's the only one I've successfully nursed. The plan is to let him self wean.

Still nursing lo2 at 25 months!!! Not because I planned or what I wanted, it just happened this way. I still can't believe it. Makes me glad though I've nursed my probably-last baby this long!
