If your LO's party wasn't on their actual birthday did you cook them a special/fun meal for their birthday? LO is only going to be one but I'm thinking I should at least make her one of her favorite meals...or make it fun!

I think it's a fun tradition, once she knows what's up. This year, her bday is on Easter so she'll have lots of special foods!

Yep! We had her favorite meal and had a cupcake to celebrate on her actual birthday.

For his first birthday, we gave him a cupcake (his first sugar!), as his birthday party was a week later. I loved the look on his face when we put the cupcake on his high chair tray, like "what is this magical object?". For his second birthday, we didn't have a party, but went on a trip and made a trip to a yummy bakery for birthday pastries, and went out to dinner. He got a beautiful dessert with a sparkler (which he loved at first, then it scared him when it got too low!).

LO2 turned one yesterday and her party is in Saturday. I made her a smash cake and her favorite dinner.
