My heart just broke into a million pieces this morning when I dropped M off at daycare. As we walked in, two teachers and the director were standing near her room. She immediately started crying/screaming when she saw them. It was heartbreaking. I know it's a phase because she is very clingy at home, too.
Did your lo go through this stage? Did it last long?

my LO hasn't gone through this yet (he's 6 months), but i'm dreading it. how old is your LO? i can only imagine how it must have ripped at you heart. rest assured she is probably having a wonderful time right now! but still...sniff...

@edelweiss: she's 13 months. The infant room teacher told me she does stop crying but it takes her a few minutes.

My DS has been crying at dropoff since sometime in June. He was happy before that so I'm pretty sure it's a phase. THey said he stops pretty soon after I leave. Hope it gets better!

Poor girl. It really does break your heart. For us, these phases seem to last about 2 weeks.

@T.H.O.U.: I can deal with 2 weeks...I hope. It started last week and has gotten progressively worse. The teachers try so hard, they whisk her away, take her outside and ugh. I'm know she stops crying at some point but it's so hard to hear!
@T-Mom: June. You know, it's mid July, right? My hopes of 2 weeks were just dashed.

@mediagirl: sorry, sounds rough. L is home with a nanny right now, and I wanted her to start daycare wheb she turned 1ish (so around now) but the daycare providers told me that this is the worst time developmentally for me to attempt that and that she would be super clingy around now. They weren't wrong! I hope it passes soon, at least she will be really excited to see you when you pick her up!

I think it's a phase. B won't walk into his classroom, when I leave he tries to follow me and then just stares at the door as I leave. It's really sad. It's weird because he used to run to play when I dropped him off before.

Charlie and Olive still do once in a while. They love daycare but they have their off days where they're both clingy!
it's usually a phase that doesn't last long.

LO does it every morning. This morning, he cried as a I was walking up the stairs to the daycare. He cried until I left. It's all drama with him to get me to take him home. He stops when I leave. He did it with my DH when he did drop offs. I wish I knew how to stop it. I just roll my eyes and say whatever to him or that I don't believe him.

@plantains: yes, the best thing about pick-up is she sees me (or my husband), raises her hands over her head and babbles excitedly while she makes a beeline for us.

So sorry momma! I am not ready for that to happen with my DS I'm sure it's just heartbreaking!
