I really like some of the new divided plates and my kid loves using them. When do kids stop using them?

I stopped pretty early on. M has definitely been using our regular plates for well over 18m. I felt like it helped with pickiness? But now she's being picky so who knows?! 🙃
Eta: I was at Target a few weeks ago and they had these cute lunch room style plates. I was sooo tempted!!

I stopped using them early on because I noticed that it created a pickiness about food touching!

We have the Oxo divided and regular plates and we just switch between them with no issues. Xander is 2.5.

We'll use divided/plastic plates until I can be reasonably assured he's not going to drop regular plates on the floor. If I wanted to keep a really close on eye on him I could give him regular ones now at 2. But sometimes it's nice to not worry about things like broken plates :).

I'm 31 and I would still use a divided plate if it was socially acceptable

Sometimes we use them and sometimes not - just depends which plate I grant. I can trust her with regular plates too.

We never used divided plates. I found a pack of cheap plastic plates that we've used from the get-go!

@Truth Bombs: haha they totally have adult ones!!! They look like modern versions of our cafeteria lunch plates. Wish list!

I bought our because they're cute. We'll use them for a long time. She uses regular plates too without issue.

@regberadaisy: adult ones! Love it! They would be great for outdoor BBQs!

I still like using divided plates as an adult. I like it for portion control. I have round plastic ones from Walmart but have my eyes on the Corelle ones when they restock. DD uses all sorts of divided plates (Disney & replay brand).

We use both. The better he gets with utensils, the more I will phase them out.

We never used them; he switched to eating off the highchair tray to eating from a regular (ceramic) plate around one year.

We only used hand me down divided ones (and rarely at that) but DD prefers regular plates like mom and dad use. Hers are plastic though. She is 3.

We go back and forth depending on what's clean and what she is eating. I still use almost all plastic though, because I often walk away to do something while she is eating andnm still worry she will knock it over. Plus our plates don't ft well on her high chair tray.

She has some that are divided, and some that are not. She's 3.5, and doesn't usually have a preference. We haven't bought her any since she was 18 months though, since she's a big girl now and can use our plates.

The only divided plates we ever have used is the holiday ones!
