Did you DIY purées and/or baby food? We just did squash the other night and have peas lined up next. What other foods are easy to make and freeze? I want to do oatmeal but not sure how it'll freeze. What about good combos to mix?

Spaghetti Squash mixed with a bit of applesauce (plain spaghetti squash doesn't have much flavor. I used store bought applesauce because its so cheap and you can easily get organic plain no sugar)
Sweet Potatoes with a bit of greek yogurt and cinnamon.

Combos that we did that were easy (I did most things by steaming in my steamer basket pot, then pureeing in vitamix or with an immersion blender):
peaches/pears
sweet potato/red lentils
sweet potato/beef/broccoli
chicken/zucchini/apple
squash/cherries
apple/carrot/mango
I usually put cinnamon in the fruit combos and a bit of sauteed garlic/onion in the savory ones.

I've grated apples, and boiled and mashed quite a few other fruits and veggies. The only ones I have trouble with are bananas, they seem to clump up no matter how well I mash them. I also boil chicken until it's really soft and cut it up very fine. We also have these powdered cereals that you can add to anything to give it texture - very helpful, and you don't have to freeze it. You can just add it right before serving.

Other than the ones you mentioned, acorn squash, sweet potato, pear, cherries, red lentils, and parsnip were some of my faves.

Sweet potatoes froze well, and were one of our first foods. I don't think oatmeal would freeze well, but I would grind up a big batch and keep it in a container. Then I would prepare enough for 3-4 days and keep it in the fridge.
I really loved this site when I was making food. Some great ideas by age group. http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/
