We've started introducing LO to solids recently, and I was just wondering if I technically "need" a high chair, or if those little chairs you strap to your kitchen chair work just as well. What do you use?

I registered for the mini-chair that straps on to an existing chair - they have great reviews! There was a post on HB just a few days ago that discussed highchairs . . .

We don't have a third chair so we might need to get one! But when I was looking it sounded like most people just liked the strap on chairs the best.

Whatever works best for you! My sister used the chair that straps to the regular chair for years. My Mom didn't like it because then my Nephew would push his way away from the table as he got older. We choose a regular high chair so we could feed her at our breakfast bar, and it's on wheels, so we can move her around. Our LO is VERY independent so we like that the high chair gives her independence- as in - she can feed herself, but she's in a contained area.

I wanted a separate chair because we only have 4 chairs at our table as it is and I want to be able to have other adults at the table and still have LO with us. I registered for (and some just bought it for us!) the Stokke Tripp Trapp. It's expensive but I love that it's a little nicer looking than most high chairs so it matches our furniture better. And I like that LO can pull right up to the table with is.

We just use a booster seat and it's awesome! I like that it's not another baby thing taking up floor space and we can remove it when we need the chair for other purposes. This is the one we have:

@jennylynn: I have also been wondering the same thing and after reading through lots of reviews and asking lots of moms I have decided to get the fisher price booster seat that @Baby Boy Mom: mentioned. I love that it doesnt take much space, can be folded down easily and can be used with any regular sized chair, plus its easy to clean unlike a lot of high chairs

I have the same seat as the two ladies above and it is working out well for us! We decided the cost and bulkiness of a full size high chair did not make sense for us. Plus the booster is all plastic so it is super easy to clean!

We've used a strap on booster when travelling, they're great. We also use a stationary high chair, it just depends on how much space you have and what your budget is!
