Not sure if this has been on the boards before but is there anything your baby HATES for you to eat if you breastfeed? Turns out my LO dislikes spicy foods, which I'm sure is normal, but unfortunately a big cause for his gas is my favorite taco joint!! LOL

I craved spicy so much when I was pregnant. Luckily baby hasn't minded what I've eaten while I've been nursing.

Awww, bummer about the spicy food!
So far so good, we did have an incident of pissed off baby around St. Patrick's day- I'm not sure if there was an issue with cooked cabbage, but we'd have to check the repeatability of that science experiment.

I haven't noticed any difference so I eat everything!

Not really a food, but vitamins. When I take them, she spits up all day long, when I don't, some days she won't spit up at all, or it's just a few dribbles vs. large, projectile amounts. I have to make sure and eat a healthy diet since the supplements just don't work for DD being able to keep her food down.

I noticed early on that if I had two mugs of coffee in the morning, Maddox would spit up a lot later on. I did half-caf for a while and am back to a big mug of full caf now and it doesn't seem to bother him anymore.

I heard eating broccoli makes the baby constipated.

I'm pretty sure that DD has a dairy protein allergy so at the moment I'm cleaning my system of dairy... we'll see how it goes. =/

@runsyellowlites: try pulling soy too (or at least don't replace all of your milk with soy)
We are soy and dairy free completely. It's been a tough year.

I'm off dairy and wheat (and I don't do soy anyway) for my daughter's eczema, I sure hope I can add wheat back in soon, it's rough being off both! My older daughter would get super annoyed if I ate to much kale (I love me some kale chips!). It didn't make her gassy or anything, she just hated the taste of kale milk .

She hates citrus. Oranges, pineapples, etc.

The only thing I ever had a problem with was instant coffee. Weird, I know. But I guess it has chemicals in it. It gave baby a tummy ache.

I eliminated dairy and wheat from my diet to help with my LO's eczema. It makes this food lover very sad, and I'm hoping to eat without restrictions very soon (currently weaning). I also had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy. I miss food so much. It's been so long.

@obxwife: I can't prove it by only trying it once, but it wasn't a fun day (nursing strike- eek!), I'm kind of scared to try it again. No problems with raw cabbage though, so it may have just been an off day.

I cut chocolate and milk because of baby's acid reflux problem. He's a bit older now (3 months) and I could try eating at least chocolate, but I just can't bare to see him cry after eating...
Other obvious things I don't eat are coffee, tea, alcohol. Some moms told me I can pump and dump or if I wait for 2 hours before the next feed I should be fine... but I just do not dare to try. If I ate chocolate, my baby would cry and cry even after a day I last consumed chocolate.

We've been really luck that we don't see any correlation. She has never been gassy or spit up much so I just eat whatever.
