My friend mentioned she was putting together snack packs for her DD's classmates. They are the same age in daycare (1yr). So I started panicking wondering if I should? I only prepared gifts for her teachers!

I'm trying to remember if dd1 got gifts last year? I don't think so. But I am putting together a gift for the class. A fun activity the teachers can do with the kids. I'm thinking about a DIY volcano with baking soda and play doh. I've been talking with her teacher about it.

I'm not doing gifts for Logan's classmates. There are TWELVE OF THEM! NOPE! Plus they won't care at that age anyway. I didn't start doing gifts for classmates until Xander was in the toddler room and only had 4 other classmates.

Nope. This is our third Christmas at daycare and we've never given or received gifts to/from classmates.

Ours is doing a book exchange, so we bought a book (but only one...not one for every child in the class!).

@Adira: I like your thinking, lol. We only have 7 kids total including her, but I figure we've only been there for 2 months anyway!

@snowjewelz: Yeah, I wouldn't worry about doing it this year. Maybe next year, but even then, most kids don't do it. I don't think Xander got anything from his classmates last year.

No - honestly this has never even crossed my mind. We've never received any presents either from daycare mates and we've been there for over 3 years.

I don't have anything nor have I picked up teacher presents yet. And actually I'm still not sure if I'll actually wind up doing something or not.
But it would be hard since she's in between classes. She still naps with the babies, but spends most of her day with the toddlers.

LO's school does small class rooms till you get to preschool. So we did last year. I got everything from the $1 section at Target. Santa bag with a book, play pack, stickers, and some goldfish. She got a small something from everyone in the class. This year they drew names and she picked out a toy for her friend.

I didn't for christmas, but I made little bags for them for Halloween.

We got a gift back from preschool today and I spent the afternoon annoyed that this is a thing. I don't have time to figure out little gifts for fifteen two year olds.

I never heard of this and as of now have no intention of ever doing it! I'm having enough trouble figuring out and finding the time to get stuff for my family!

No - but I do buy a gift for the room...this year it will be about $25 worth of books from the fair they are having through scholastic!
I do like the idea @lawbee11: mentioned...I would totally have participated in a gift exchange or secret santa type thing.
One kids mom brings in "favors" for her kids birthday...sure its not much - maybe $5 per kid...but times 12?!?!?! No way jose!

Good grief, no - like we don't have enough to do? I'm already having to take a day off work to bake enough cookies for 8 daycare teachers (3 in his toddler room, 4 in the baby room he left in July, and the director who he loves). I am getting a gift for one of his daycare friends but he's also our next door neighbour and we're friends with his parents so I don't think it really counts.
@lawbee11: This is a great idea, I would totally love if our daycare did something like this!

No but lots of kids do.
At Halloween she had 4 goody bags to take home so I imagine Xmas will be the same

@lawbee11: Same here. We're doing a gift and book exchange with an assigned kiddo. Other than that, I'm not doing something extra for the other kids. Just gifts for the teachers.

God no! We're having a hard enough time with our Christmas budget.

DS is in the toddler room with 9 other kids. We came home with 2 goodie bags on Halloween (one had homemade crayons in it!!) so I expect that will happen again this week or next. But no, I will only do something for the teachers.
The class is having a small party on Friday and the kids were asked to bring 1 wrapped book -- they will each get to pick a package during the class book exchange. I thought that was a nice idea.

Both kids have brought home small gifts during holidays from classmates-- goody bags, snacks, that sort of thing.
I thought about doing Scholastic $1 books but costs are just piling up this season so, no-- just gifts for the staff this year.

I didn't do it last year, but this year I've gone crazy. I'm melting crayons and forming them into letters with silicone molds. Each kid may have the letters to make up their name (depending if I'm able to pull this off in 2 days).
At Halloween there were two classmates who gave out treats. One was a package of pumpkin candies and the other was a package to make s'mores.

I guess I'm in the minority with yes.... I saw this idea on Pintrest and found everything needed at the dollar store (cups, ribbon, jingle bell). DD and I are making the play dough as an activity (literally costs pennies). It's a little more work for me but at age three I think it's starting to get more important for her to recognize that Christmas is about giving, not just about getting.
