I just did - DD2 woke about every 30 min last night (thank you, 4 month sleep regression!), so I'm exhausted. I fell asleep for about 15 min and it feels great!

haha I wish! then I'd actually get to take a nap! tho when I pump in the middle of the night I mine as well be asleep I'm practically sleepwalking

I've definitely been tired enough where I wanted to! But I found I had to sit up really straight to pump effectively, which is not conducive to naps!

@Alivoo01: Phew, glad I'm not the only one! I was like "Man, I must be doing it wrong if people can take naps while doing this!"

YES! I would set my phone alarm for 20 minutes and PASS OUT. I've never been so good at falling asleep so quickly as when I first went back to work. Three 20 minute naps a day were the key to my sanity

I had to do so much massage and had to sit forward...there was no way i could have slept. Would have been so nice though!

Never. I had to constantly massage and adjust the flanges and blah blah blah. Plus, having my nipples ravaged was not relaxing at all to me. But, I have a great sleeper so the exhaustion was never extreme

I agree. What position are you sitting in that you can do both?

i never tried! i was always pumping during weddings, so i don't think that would have helped!

I pump in the middle of the night and I'm usually mostly asleep! Thank goodness for the hands free pumping bra.

I once fell asleep while pumping at work and pumped for over 45 minutes!

I'm really impressed with those of you that can fall asleep while pumping!

What magical pump do ya'll have that you don't have to lean way over, and adjust every 30 seconds. I always found pumping super stressful, certainly not sleep inducing.

@PawPrints: @Sapphiresun: @keiki_mama: @T.H.O.U.: Medela PISA + hands-free pumping bra + monotonous pumping sound = sleep. Haha I just sit in a chair and prop my head up w/ my hand..

@BabyBoecksMom: The Medela PISA is what I have and I still had to sit up super straight to pump! No way was I taking a nap!

@Sapphiresun: @T.H.O.U.: I had an Ameda, but I don't think that mattered. My pumping room had a tall counter that we would sit at - taller than a desk - so I would ball up a sweater on the counter, get my elbows rested on my knees while holding the flanges, and lay my head on the counter and sleep! I have a ridiculously large chest going for me though, so the flanges never slid around. I did wake up a couple times to REALLY sore nipples when I didn't set the flanges properly, but that was totally worth it to me!
Oh, and I had to lean forward to get my milk out so that worked out perfectly, if I had to sit up straight I wouldn't have been able to nap

@swurlygurl: Yea, I was wondering if I could find a spot like this. I agree, leaning forward sounds much more helpful for pumping than leaning back.
