Ya! I always feel like they are going to tell me something bad. We just had one and there were only positives though!

Awww!! Does it help to know that the teachers dread these as much as you? 90% of parents are great but then you have the 10% of crazy or high maintenance or opposite extreme totally uninvolved parent and sometimes walking into the meeting, the teacher doesn't know if you are the 90% or the 10%.
I've had some pretty insane parent conferences, so if a parent isn't screaming or turning red, it's a success in my book. Nothing to worry about!

We haven't had one yet, but I know I will be anxious and I think that is completely normal. You are sitting there not knowing what the teachers are going to say, while the teacher already knows if it is good or bad and can prepare their delivery. As parents, we are more or less sitting there with no info. I have had enough reviews at work to know how to handle developmental feedback, but still, when it is your child, totally different.
Maybe you already have a gut feeling, I don't know.

@Anagram: I was coming to write the exact same thing! And a good teacher would let you know before a conference if there was an issue--you should never be blindsided by any kind of news.

No...I know my kid is pretty good, and I'm always open to know if he needs to improve on anything.

@autumnlove: Haha, glad I'm not the only one who gets nervous! How did they go?

@mrbee: they went well!!! I was making up crazy scenarios in my head before the meeting!

@Anagram: I don't dread them! I just get a little nervous because our son doesn't always listen or sit still... especially in the winter, when they don't get to go outside and run around.

@mrbee: oh, and they told me she follows directions well and shares at daycare.....not at home!!!

@autumnlove: Haha I know what you mean! Sometimes when I talk to the teachers, I'm thinking, "Hmm, maybe she's thinking of another kid. That doesn't sound like my son!"
