I'd like to more often but it's not doable for us right now, DH works late so we eat dinner after LO is in bed. On weekends we usually eat breakfast and lunch together though.

I completely agree with you. When Mr. T is in the field (planting, harvest) it's just the girls and me, but the rest of the time we have at least one meal a day with the whole family. Now that it's summer, we get to eat two meals together at the table; lunch and supper. I think it is a wonderful way to connect and enjoy one another's company without so many of the distractions that are present in most of the rest of our life. We've been including Lorelei as a "participant" (i.e. she is awake and also eating) since she was about 6 months old. Ellie is old enough that she helps set the table, and often helps with cooking and meal prep as well. It has been so much fun to share my passion for food with her! I think it's great that you are trying to have family meals. I do definitely understand that it can be hard in some situations, though.

Yes. LO and I don't always eat together during the day, but we do eat dinners as a family. It's fun!

This is definitely important to us as well. But DH works nights a few nights a week so on those nights I wait to eat with him. But on the nights he is home at dinner time we started eating together at the dining table. Pre baby we always ate in front of the TV. But no more! I want it to be a time the whole family is together to talk about our day! I want to make sure everyone has their "5 minutes" as well.
