I'm the mean mom at daycare. I bring my kid's food to daycare when all the other kids eat daycare food. I don't let her have juice at snacktime, she gets milk or water.
Now, there's another thing. The Friday teacher brings ice cream in for the kids on Friday's. M has had ice cream once in her life (to my knowledge...) and I'm not a big fan of her, at the tender age of 13 months, having it once a week! When she starts going to daycare on Fridays in September, I'm going to send in yogurt and ask that they put it in the same type of cup they put the ice cream in.
Am I being unreasonable here? Do you think ages 1 to 2 is too young to have this "treat" once a week?
I only offered her a couple of bites, though. The teacher I talked to about it said it's a small amount but to them, a small amount could be a dixie cup or larger. To me, a small amount is a bite or two. I'd be ok with a bite or two. But I'm not there so I can't regulate it so, that's why I have a problem with it.
