What brand(s) of diaper rash cream/ointments did you/your LO like best?
I have already received BabyGanics, Boudreaux's Butt Paste, and Desitin. I've read good things about Triple Paste, but wow it's pricey!
How much of this stuff do you go through?

We haven't had issues with diaper rash but we love coconut oil as prevention!!!

We use Desitin and I think as far as how much you go through, depends on if you use it every time. We only use it after she poops and sometimes after her baths. We are on our 3rd tube (the larger size) and she is 5 months old.

We use coconut oil regularily and occasionly if she gets a little red, we opt for sudocreme.

I think corona ointment is the absolute best. we have a tub and lo is 5 months old, never had diaper rash and plenty of cream still left. we got a boatload of diaper rash creams with gifts but i have found that to be my fav!

Triple Paste is awesome! I originally only bought the small tube to see how good it worked. We're already through about half of it with our boys in four days, but that's with applying it thickly after every diaper change trying to get rid of their rash.

We use Desitin and Boudreaux's. I like them both. I only really care about his butt cream when he's got diaper rash. Otherwise, creamy Desitin is our standby.

Dr Smith's. It's the best! We only use when needed (which isn't often). We also don't use any sort of cream on a daily basis as a preventative.

I use Triple Paste when LO has a rash. I use CJ's Butter for cloth diapers!

Triple paste is awesome to actually clear up a rash. For everyday we use aqua phor or earth mama angel baby bottom balm.

I like Angel Baby Bottom Balm, but only use it once in a while. I got kind of lazy.. and LO hasn't had any diaper rash.. We used to use Desitin and it worked well as a preventative..

at 8 months we've hardly put a dent in one tube... so if you find something that works you still probably don't need to stock up!
i live in 2 places so we have 1 in each place
1 arbonne baby rash cream
1 cjs butter

We use Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm. It's stupid expensive for what seems like a tiny jar, but LO is almost 16 months old and we just started our third jar. We use it every night before bed and any time she has any redness. It seems to work really well.

With 2 kids, I am still going through cream I received from my first LO. We really havent had too much diaper rash (knock on wood). I think I have bought one tube of desitin while I was traveling and needed some. The rest (a&d, Boudreaux, Aveeno) were gifts from DD and I use them all interchangeably. I also agree with using coconut oil as preventative.

Wow! Thanks ladies! I didn't realize that it's common practice to put cream on as a preventative or daily thing? I think I will get a small size of the Earth Mama Angel & a small one of Triple Paste and see how they all work out! Thanks!

I like Triple Paste and Burt's Bee's for redness/rashes.
We use coconut oil everyday. EMAB bottom balm was ok, but not for the price since coconut oil is cheaper and just as effective.

We use Desitin Maximum Strength. DS is 17 months old and we're on our third tube (one of them was thrown away by accident). Fortunately, we haven't had too many diaper rashes. We only use it for treatment, not a preventative.

We use Mustela's diaper rash cream -'it smells great, has a great texture too--- it's pricey, but LO is 3.5 months and we haven't finished a whole tube yet.
We don't put it on every time, just when we see some redness starting. I didn't end up using Desitin because it has parabens, I read a few things about that that made me want to avoid if I knew it was in something.
We also have Boudreaux's butt paste but I don't love it - it separates and is oily/messy.

We use whatever! Haha. For the most part, they're all the same ingredients (the big brands at least) and when my LO gets a slight diaper rash any brand has managed to clear it up within a day.

@hellobeeboston: I lurve everything Mustela! Smells so good and doesn't affect my eczema or allergies!

I tried Boudreaux's naturals, earth angel mama baby, coconut oil, CJS butt butter.. the only thing that made an ounce of difference (and wow did it ever!!) was triple paste. so we use that for a rash and preventatively overnight

I might be the only person who doesn't like Boudreaux's Butt Paste. I have had much faster and better results with Aveeno diaper rash cream.

Our baby got diaper rash the first week of his life, but at the time my MIL was taking care of him during the day and she didn't really notice it. I took care of him at night so we generally kept the lights low so I didn't see it. One day, she wanted to go to the market so I was changing his diaper in the day and noticed that the skin was completely RAW! I was so upset with her for not seeing it in the daytime and for myself for not noticing it at night. We washed his bottom and let him air dry EVERY diaper change for about a month. We tried butt paste, desitin, flander's, A&D, Aquaphor and nothing helped. It just got worse and worse. After about 6 weeks of this, our friend's nanny overheard us talking about it and suggested Triple Paste. I'd never heard of it, but rushed off to buy a tub and within ONE WEEK, it was all healed. The high zinc oxide content is what did it. So now, we use triple paste all the time. It is pricey, but I found it was cheapest at Target. It's 18.99 for a larger tub than the $23 or $24 tub at CVS and Babies'r'Us. Target has a $3 off coupon and they have $2 off coupons at my pediatricians office. The tub lasts a long time though and I use a Qtip to apply it which helps cut down on waste. Your pediatrician might have samples too. I discovered later my ped. had given us a sample, but we never tried it.

Get small tubes of things to see what works best for your baby! Some babies never even get diaper rash. Wagon Jr. had really bad stubborn diaper rash that was REALLY bad when he had diarrhea. I tried many different creams but Triple Paste was the only one that would keep the rash at bay. Basically anything that has a high zinc oxide concentration will do this. It creates a barrier so wetness can't get through to the raw skin.
People gave me suggestions... Boudreaux's Butt Paste actually aggravated his rash and made it spread!!!!
LMW has never had a rash yet! Just a little redness. She only poops like twice a week. Wagon Jr. pooped 4-5 times a day sometimes. Between every feeding!

glad i came across this thread, LO has had a rash that wont completely go away. it is starting to now, but i am also looking to prevent it from coming back, so i may switch up what we were using before - which was just whatever i got as gifts at my shower plus vaseline.
