My 8 month old is a teenager in training. She goes to bed when we do and therefore wants to sleep in in the morning. Right now my two year old and I are twiddling our thumbs waiting to go to the library/park because baby sis is still sleeping soundly. I'm debating whether I need to start waking her up in the mornings to get her more on "our" schedule, but am not at all convinced that this will bring her bedtime earlier - I think it'll just make her grouchy. Plus, I kind of like having alone time with her at night anyhow! The joy on her face at having all the toys to herself is pretty cute!
So....do you follow the old adage "never wake a sleeping baby"? Or do you get your lazy-bones baby out of bed?
We did a huge international move this year so didn't make a big thing out of scheduling since our schedule (and location) was changing from month to month. Now that we're settled in our new home and the holidays are behind us, it's probably time! Go-with-the-flow scheduling for the first year of DD#1's life worked really well for us, but there's less need for flexibility and more need for routine with two, isn't there?!
