I have found that if there is one meal that my daughter will always eat is soup! She usually has 2 bowls of it, too. She loves soup!

She's 1 &it confuses the ever living crap out of her lol she doesn't get the liquid & food combo &chokes on it. I usually get hers with a slotted spoon & serve it on a plate so she just gets the "food" part.

He's not very good with a spoon yet, but when I make chicken and wild rice soup he devours it!

@mediagirl: how old was she when you first offered soup? We haven't tried it yet.

@cmomma17: hmmm. Sometime between 20 and 24 months. It was very confusing to her, the concept of stuff plus broth, and she has just recently (at 28 months) started getting the hang of eating the broth. Before she would just eat the meat and veggies out of the bowl.

She LOVES LOVES her soups. DD has been a fan of chicken noodle soup and Pho since 8 months or so. I use to mash it up before she turned one. Then around 13 months she wouldn't eat it like that anymore so I just stopped mashing it up and she loved eating it not mashed up. Now she is trying to self feed and it's so messy but it's part of the learning process so lots of cleaning and outfit changes afterwards.

@mediagirl: ah okay. We are only at 18 months and definitely not coordinated enough for soup yet!

L O V E. Even when it's summer and hot in the house. Which makes no sense because she runs hots like dad but has no issues with hot soup in the summer.
@cmomma17: definitely not too young! DD 1 is almost 30m onths and she was Def drinking soup out of the bowl last winter.

@regberadaisy: ah, drinking out of the bowl! Why didn't I think of that? Although my LO would most likely dump it out and finger paint ... that's what he likes to do with cups!

Yes she likes soup. She is only 14 months so I have to feed her but whenever I make soup for myself she has a little as well!

No. My son is really not a fan of soup, but I still make it. His new school serves soup as a first course every day, so I'm hoping he will warm up to it.

Loves! Like obsessed with it and will eat bowl after bowl. It's the one food she's always loved.
