LO has been up since 12:30 (3 hrs) and is now rolling around in his bed. He woke up whining and then eventually cried. I fed him and put him back to bed where he rolled around for 2 hours and then started crying again. I went in to soothe him which made him cry even harder. I picked him up and rocked him and once he settled I put him down where he started crying again. I fed him again and put him down... He's starting to cry again. He's not even up for this long during the day. I don't even know what to do anymore besides let him cry to sleep :(. Anyone else's LO go through this??

How old is your LO? Could something be bothering him? (Teeth, reflux, overtired). We had a few nights like this around growth spurts, teething and such. Don't have any advice except he will eventually fall asleep (and probably wake too soon) and just hope the next night is better.

He's almost 7 months and yes he's teething! I didn't think it was bothering him since he wasn't chewing on his blanket. I guess I was wrong! Now trying to function off of 3 hours of sleep -_-... Thanks for your response. It's easy to go crazy at 3am!

DS does this all the time when he's teething. It's really hard!
I basically came up with a system that somewhat works for us. When he gets up, I give him a dose of tylenol and feed him. Then I rock him up to 30 minutes. If he hasn't fallen back to sleep in that time, I put him back into bed awake. If he fusses or talks to himself, I leave him alone. If he cries hard for five minutes, I go put Baby Oragel on his gums and rock him for another 30 minutes. If he's not asleep, I leave him again. After five minutes of hard crying, I go back up and feed him another bottle and rock him for another 30 minutes. In the beginning, I had to go through the whole routine, and i'd be able to doze off in between 30 minute segments. Now, he knows the rocking is limited, so I usually don't have to go beyond the first 30 minutes. He's still up for 2-3 hours at night sometimes, but after the first 30 minutes, I can go back to bed and he doesn't cry. He's still up, but I get more sleep.

Ugh, yes! 2-4 am if he naps past 5pm the day before. It's rather deal with Grumpus at dinner time than have him wide awake in the middle of the night. Hope this passes for you soon!
