Right now parents provide lunches but the school is going to introduce in June a meal plan if you want to use it.
But wow - its pricey to me!!

Lunch Bites - ages 2-4 starts at $5.25
Small - ages 4-8 starts at $5.95
Regular - ages 9 and up - starts at $6.45

@Mamaof2: That does seem high. We pay $3.20 a day for lunch for R right now. I don't know if the cost goes up as LO ages. I had to pick her room and then I just sign up for what days I want.

@lavender: nothing fancy - chicken strips, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese - then fresh veggies and fruit as sides.
I can make better lunches for less $$!

Our daycare has a company that they contract with to cater lunches and it is around $4-5 for each lunch. The containers seem fairly big for a young toddler, they are probably enough for a 4 year old.
It seems expensive for what you get but I think most of the cost is paying for the convenience of it. We haven't ordered any yet!

@sunny: I agree its the convenience and I thought about doing 1 day a week but I have 2 kids - so that's around $11.25 for 2 kids lunches - too much for me when I can pack leftovers from dinner

Woah, that does seem high. Awfully convenient, but something I would have to skip. Although, I'm just fairly cheap in general, so there's probably no price I'd want to pay... haha!

@Mamaof2: I agree! I just pack her leftovers everyday. I've seen some parents send frozen meals in a pinch.

@Mamaof2: That food does look good for a kid... but still yeah that price is crazy. I pay less than that for my lunches at work!

That sounds expensive to me but I don't really have anything to compare it to. If it were home cooked and all natural or organic I might be more likely to be on board but a hot dog, mac & cheese, frozen peas and half an orange would cost you $2 max if you made it at home.
