R is so messy every day. Huge difference from infant room and toddler room. I am guessing cause she feeds herself even more. Then crafts and outside playing. When does it get better?
I have all her clothes from this week in a stack to get stains out.

Oh lordy, yes! E is only 8 months but she comes home with food in her eyebrows, paint up her arms, shaving foam all over her clothes.... it's brilliant! I love it!

Yes! Soooo messy and her face is always so snotty and dirty. I started a bucket where I just put her stained daycare clothes to soak.

DS is starting daycare as a toddler and they said to dress him clothes he can get messy/can play in. I'm totally bummed he won't be able to wear his cute clothes haha. Not like he cares ya know. I bought some cheap tees and shorts for him at target. And will save his other clothes for when he isn't there I suppose.

Oh yeah. I don't send her in anything white. Ever. She comes home a disaster, especially now that the weather is better and they're spending more time outside. For the summer, I'm sending her in some cheap H&M shirts and leggings or shorts.

@MamaJ: daycare clothes and weekend clothes are totally split in our DDs closet here, no cute outfits, anything handmade, or anything nice goes to daycare!

"if it isn't messy it isn't fun" Childhood is messy, and kids coming home messy (aside from snotty noses...good hygiene is important) is a sign of a good school. My favorite part of teaching toddlers was stripping them all down to their diapers, pouring paint on bulletin board paper and letting them walk around and play in it...or crawling around in the dirt on the playground looking for bugs. If your kiddos come home neat and clean I would be worried that they aren't playing or learning, and that would cause me a lot of concern.

And yes, she comes home in varying degrees of messy every day. Thankfully her in-home daycare lady will just throw things in the wash about half the time and send them home clean that day or the next. She rules.

So I SAH but this caught my eye and wanted to share this if it would help anyone! Probably not appropriate for all day wear, but we've been using it anytime we go outside right now because it's so soggy. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=tuffo%20rain%20suit We also use long sleeved bibs for any art or snack... Again, don't want to be annoying if these aren't options at daycare(s) but in case it helps anyone!

She didn't at her old daycare, but she does at her current one and I hate it because I can't send her in anything cute.

I just wish the daycare would use the smock I provide when she's painting. I realize it's hard to do those little things with so many kids though. I've seen how fast she has to work to keep them happy!

Yes, they get to play outside everyday and feed themselves. I'm always happy for him though cause I know he really enjoys these things

I'm surprised by how clean her clothes are! But it's mainly because it's still cold outside and everyone's still in their snowsuits. They really let kids roll around here, but everyone's always fully wrapped up, so their inner clothes are untouched.
That'll change when the weather's warmer though. But it'll be awhile since it's can be rainy "season" all throughout summer up until it snows again!

@scg00387: That's exactly what all the kids wear here. Thick, insulated, waterproof ones for winter, and a plastic one (fishermen style) for spring and fall. When it's cold and wet, they put the plastic over the snowsuit.

@sunny: It is hard (you know how hard dressing 1 toddler is...let alone 8!), but if you sent a smock it should be used...although smocks only do so much. A lot of times it just prevents it from being MUCH worse

Yes my kids are usually messy and the teachers are always apologizing about it - I always tell them I don't mind at all since they probably had such a fun day but apparently some of the other parents get so mad about it!
We have "daycare clothes" and once it gets stained, oh well - they still wear it!

@scg00387: That is smart but it is getting hot here already. The playground doesn't have sand or dirt. I don't know how they get so dirty!!
