Almost everytime I pump at work I get this overwhelming swell of motions related to how much I love my baby. I'm sure that is just nature/science, but I like it

Mine is more of...if I didn't love you so much and love the snuggles we get when you nurse, I would have stopped this a loooooooooooooong time ago, kiddo!!

Yeah pumping doesn't give me super happy feelings. Someone here posted about something called D-MER, Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex and after reading about it I determined I definitely have it. I get an uncomfortable/unhappy feeling with let down and it's much more pronounced when I pump than when I nurse. And I often spend my pumping session stressing about how much milk I'm going to get and if it's going to be enough!

@highwire: I'm glad it's good for somebody! Gives me hope that if we do have another LO that I could love it the next go round.

@MsLipGloss: I certainly don't love the act or all the extra work involved, but I always get emotional about LO when I am getting set up.

@MamaMoose: Every session is like this for me! I try not to get excited about 1 good session because I know the next one is likely to be crappy. And by *good* I mean 5.5oz . . . which is the most I have pumped in one session over the last 4 months (it's usually much closer to 4-4.5).

I do. I think it's because I watch videos of him and then just feel this overwhelming feeling that I love him so much. Then I start missing him like crazy.

Yes. I kinda get that overwhelming want to cry emotion and swell of love with almost every let down. More so with social nursing, but during pumping I think about how crazy I can nourish her and hope to get more milk for her.

When I was pumping all I could think of was "I love this baby enough to do this every 3 hours." It was not something I enjoyed doing, and stuck it out as long as I could for the health of my baby!

Yes, but not in a good way like you! Mine is like other PPs, I hate this so much so I must love you a TON!
