Yes. DS is in an extra gym glass and they also offered some English language music classes (didn't sign up for those). They also have monthly field trips, but you buy a "package" of three field trips that includes the charter bus transportation and lunch out. The gym class was expensive since we had to pay it as a lump sum up front, but I remind myself that our daycare is so cheap compared to anywhere, that it's really not a big deal in the overall cost.

That seems super pricey. We do Music Together for 10 weeks at a time, and it's only $130/semester, and classes are an hour! Id feel a little stuck in that situation. I'd want my babe to be included, but daycare is already so pricey.

Yes! They do a fitness class on Thursdays (which is of course one of the days LO doesn't go). It's $32.50/month, which I don't think is too bad for a class where they're active. They'll also do music 1 day/month, but there's no charge for that.

Haha this is just nuts to me, I've never heard of having to pay extra for activities, isn't that what you pay for daycare for? I can see swim lessons, ect. if you take them somewhere else but a music class? Talk about an opportunity to single out a child whos' parents choose not to do it/can't afford to do it. My 2 year old would never understand why so and so got to go but she didn't, seems so unfair to me and it would break my heart.

Ours has Soccer Shots, starting at 2. D just missed the cut-off for the winter session, but we'll be enrolling him in the next one. I think it's around $15-20 for an 8-week session.

@LuLu Mom: @mediagirl: I know most of Rs class does Playball and she doesn't but her teachers never have said her or other kids get upset when the others leave. They are just 2, or almost 2, so that could be a factor.

@regberadaisy: I think they do different sports and related activities. Like younger kids, working on throwing balls, etc. Parents are supposed to work on it at home too.

Various companies come to do extracurricular activities at my DS's preschool. Dance, tumblebus (gym class in specially outfitted school bus), art class, cheer. they are all for age 3 and up. My kids have been enrolled at various times for different ones. They never were bothered when they didn't go and other kids did. But they did ask to get enrolled in ones they really liked.
