We lucked out that our daycare provides/cooks meals (breakfast, lunch, am/pm snack). They cook everything themselves and is nutritious and not junk. It's one thing I don't need to worry about in the morning. Does your daycare provide meals?

Yup - they provide am snack/breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack (or you are free to send your LO with whatever food from home you would like). Like your daycare, they make food from scratch in-house and they are yummy options that are not junk. Lunch always comes with fresh veggies and fruit and then the main dish. They have some great options: lasagna, chicken salad, turkey meatloaf, soups, veggie pitas with hummus, chili with cheese, veggie stir fry with brown rice, etc.

We have a private babysitter and she offered but I'm a bit of a control-freak so I pack him a lunch.

No. When LO is older, she'll provide snacks for her, but not meals. For what we are paying, that's completely fine with me.

When she's older yes but I've seen their meal plans and I might not let her eat all of it.
@yoursilverlining: are those all cooked from scratch, in house?

@regberadaisy: yup, all the lunches are made in-house from scratch. The snacks are stuff like cheese and crackers, yogurt and fruit, goldfish crackers, bagel with strawberry cream cheese; so those are store bought. When they have muffins for breakfast, those are made in-house from scratch. The only really processed item they serve is American cheese, which I'm not fond of, but I still let LO have it. They also have salad dressing options and since we dont eat salad dressing (ranch, etc.) I opted out of that; so LO just gets plain salad.
They do a nice job with making the food accessible to all the age groups; yesterday was chicken salad sandwiches with veggies and since LO at 8.5 months can't really navigate a sandwich, her lunch was a scoop of chicken salad, bread cut into sticks, grapes, cucumbers, cheese slices and baked apples.
For something like fruit salad, the default is fruit salad made in house using only fresh fruit; but if they can't do that for some reason and use canned fruit; they will send out an email and you can decide if you want your LO to get canned fruit or opt out for that day and they will just give them veggies or something else for snack.
All the pasta dishes, meatballs/meatloaf, etc are made in house from scratch. Sometimes the bread is from scratch, usually it's store bought sandwich bread (always whole wheat).

Yep! LO is starting at a new daycare next week and they cook breakfast and lunch from scratch. I am so thrilled!

Wow I'm jealous of you guys with your awesome daycare food! Ours doesn't provide anything, which at least means I can control what she gets, but it sure would make things easier if they provided.

Yes, my daycare provides breakfast, lunch and snack. I like that they provide food so that all the kids are eating the same thing. I know from experience that kids are far likelier to try new foods if they see their friends eating it, too, so I'm happy with this setup.

Yep, all food is provided with the exception of infants. Any formulas or purees must be brought in by each family. Once on table foods, two snacks (morning and afternoon) and a lunch is provided with milk and water all day. All the food is supplied by local restaurants (a homestyle cafe next door, whole foods, a deli, etc.) and we get the menu in advance so if we need to make any adjustments we are welcome to do so. They provided lots of fresh fruits and vegetables as part of each meal and we've been really pleased.
