We night weaned at the same time we sleep trained and took away the swaddle, around 6.5 months. We chose to do it then because he was no longer waking at night for food but to be held and comforted so every time I put him to the breast he'd nurse for maybe a couple minutes but wouldn't actually take a feeding, he'd comfort nurse and since we had pacifiers, we started to do that instead.

My LO is EBF and she has slept through the night since she was 8 weeks old. Before that she was waking up 3-4 times a night...it was crazy!

My LO slept 8-10 hours at a time until I had to go back to work at 12 weeks. Since then, her sleep is getting worse and she's waking every 2.5 hours, hungry, because she is only eating enough to take the hunger off and then falling asleep. We're starting to feed her a bottle instead of letting her nurse, since she'll eat more from the bottle before falling asleep, and therefore let her (and us) sleep longer.

Plus, our pediatrician said that he doesn't want her to take any more calories at night, so we're really trying to wean her off of the night feedings.

LO is 3 months old. He goes to bed around 10:30pm, then wakes up to eat between 4 and 7am, then goes back to sleep for another 4 hours after nursing. Since some nights he sleeps "through the night" and other nights he doesn't, I'm not going to try to change anything right now.

mine did until she learned to crawl out of her floor bed. After 6 months of not sleeping through the night, she's finally sleeping well again.

My 3 month old sleeps through the night. But now I dont know if its a good thing, because since she started sleeping through the night she misses 2 feedings and this has caused her weight gain to slow down. To the point that the pediatrician recommended adding formula to her breastmilk but reducing the water ratio to make it more calorie condensed.

olive is almost 10 months old and wakes up at least once a night. i think if i night weaned her, she would sleep through the night. but i am ok with it because she sleeps so much at night -- usually 13 1/2 hours.

charlie was getting exclusive breastmilk, and he started sleeping through the night at 4 1/2 months when we sleep trained, but he was sleeping 10 hour stretches.

it is much easier to juggle two kids when one of them is sleeping 13 1/2 hours, so i don't want to mess with that. I don't mind waking up in the middle of the night if it means Olive sleeps 16+ hours a day! (she also naps 3 hours)

My LO is almost 11 weeks and wakes up at least once, but usually two times in the night (sometimes three). I can't imagine NOT feeding her! I really don't mind it, and she just seems so young to try and wean off the feedings.

DS is 7 months, I work full time so he gets BM bottles during the day and occasionally gets formula while I'm away if he's being fussy and not finishing bottles (hate to waste the BM!). When I get home, he's nursed exclusively. I feed him before bed, once during the night (around 2:30/3am) and in the early morning before I leave for work.

PB is 9 months old. Since I started dream feeds (nursing him around 10:30pm before I go to bed) he's been sleeping through the night (7:15-ish pm to 6:30am). Unless he's teething, but my theory is that nursing helps his gums feel better if he's really hurting, so I go ahead and get up with him.

Before that he was waking up once a night, around 4am - and I get up at 6:30 for work, so that was killing me.

@irene: Hm... I didn't start being regular about dream feeds until he was about 8 months old, so he may also have just been ready to grow out of that 3-4am wake up with a little prodding? I don't know. You'll get there soon, I'm sure. (side note: I started dream feeds because of nursing strikes... ah, the simplicity of breastfeeding, eh?)

Kinda? We put Lucas down at 7:30-8 each night and then dreamfeed him with a bottle of breastmilk at 10:30PM. He is then able to sleep a 5-6 hour stretch and wake up between 4-5AM for a feed before waking up for the day at 8AM.

He's been doing the 5-6 hour stretch since he was 7 weeks; he's currently 9 weeks old.
