I swear, some days my kids barely eat and I wonder how they survive. Other days they eat like little pigs. I feel like there are more days that they barely eat though, and it worries me sometimes. Does your LO have days where they barely eat, or do they eat pretty well most of the time?

Yep! Like she is a bear on hibernation or something and eats a ton and then is fine for a couple days. The pedi told me today as long as she gets one good meal a day to not worry.

He started doing this recently and I had a very hard time with it because we went through a major growth spurt where he would gobble an entire avocado down while I tried to get him a meal together (and eat that too!), and then the next week he would eat 2 bites and be done.
I am learning that children are anything but consistent.

Yes and it's so crazy because DS is so heavy. Mostly breakfast is his jam and he barely touches his lunch or dinner. It drives me crazy!

Myles, DS1 used to be an awesome eater. But lately, I feel like he barely eats. He doesn't want food he used to love. I swear he lives off of cheese! It stresses me out. But he hasn't lost weight or anything so I guess he's fine.

Definitely goes in spurts. I remember hearing the advice that you should look at your kid's intake over the week rather than the day. That's helped me a lot!

Yeah she use to eat anything we put in front of her, but now it's pretty hit or miss. I swear some days all she eats is fruit and cheese!

Yeah. Our DS used to be the best eater but now he has days where he barely even touches his food!! I worry he will wake up hungry but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I feel like kids know how much they need to eat so I try not to worry!!

LO2 barely eats, and he doesn't have very many good eating days either. LO1 is such a great eater, and I'm not used to this.

Yep - some days he'll barely touch his dinner and other days, he wants seconds! I thought I heard somewhere that as they get older, how much they eat during the week is more important than how much they eat during a single day. Not sure if that's true or not...

My son is pretty consistent, but I do notice that when he's sick or constipated, his eating drops off. I can tell that he's coming down with something because his appetite disappears.

Yup! Our pedi also told us it's totally normal and not to fret. As long as they're hydrated and are eating something, then the days they're ravenous will help cover the days they don't care to eat. It's still worrisome as a parent, but reassuring it's "normal". Kids... lol
