Does your LO brush their teeth at school?

Not at his current school. I toured two new schools today (we want a change) and both have the kids brush their teeth. I think it's great!

Kids who stay through nap brush teeth at lo's preschool, but he doesn't stay.

I know this is off topic, but given that she's in a public school I totally understand the lack of face-face communication. Our LO is in a public school for 4K as well. We are not allowed to walk her into the school. And if I do go beyond the front door, I have to register at the office.

We do use a binder system where I can write notes to the teacher and she'll respond and I can also email her.

It's definitely very different from our private daycare setting.

It's normal for a public school to not allow parents inside on a daily basis. However, there should be a way for you to get your questions answered!

We are allowed inside the hall just not the room. I mean they never said we CAN'T go in but they block the door so I assume. But that's not my concern, it's just the communication as a whole. I'd really like a little info about what's going on at school.

@Bao: Did they have a meet the teacher and/or curriculum night? Is there an opportunity for parent/teacher conferences?

@MamaG: we met the teacher a few days before school started but they didn't go over curriculum, I'll have to ask about conferences.

M's half day preschool brushes teeth - apparently it's a requirement in Massachusetts? They use disposable brushes. I've actually never asked M about it but I know they mentioned it at orientation. I"ll have to ask her!
