Another mom I follow on IG mentioned the other day that their LO was just now starting to eat sandwiches. They are a bit older, so some people were surprised and some even said their LO's started before one. I know my two year old will each some chicken sandwiches on occasion or pb&j, but I can't remember if he had any sandwiches as early as one.
When did your LO start eating sandwiches?

I started giving PB sandwiches cut up when she was probably 14 months? I'll offer her other types (egg salad or turkey) and she usually just takes them apart and eats each part separately.

She eats pb&j or grilled cheese - both starting a little after 1. Any other sandwiches we've tried just end up in pieces and she gets frustrated.

DD was like 18 months or so for peanut butter. She is currently 3.5 and has just now gotten the hang of sandwiches that don't stick together- previously I would give her a sandwich and she would pull it apart to eat it or else everything would fall out.

Yes... But she def started later like 20+ months. Her daycare has a microwave so we usually brought in leftovers. Plus we don't eat sandwiches that often so that's why.

My 21 month old DD still likes to open up her PB&J sandwiches....she will generally eat them, but it's pretty messy! She won't eat meat sandwiches though yet.

DS is 5 and has been eating PB&J sandwiches since around 18 months. He will eat meat sandwiches when he stays at Grandpa's house, but never at home or school.

I'm not much of a sandwich maker but lately my 2yo has been asking for them (I think she had one at grandma's house) so I'll make them sometimes. Pb&j or sunbutter&j, or tuna salad. Either cut into 1/4 or I'll use the funbites sandwich cutter.

My almost 3yo hasn't eaten one yet. He will eat turkey, cheese, etc separately. He doesn't like his foods mixed together and doesn't really eat bread anyway.

My 5 year old loves sandwiches, but I only give it to him once a week or every other week. His sandwiches usually consist of ham and mayo, and I cut off for him.

DD1 got a later start to sandwiches, mostly bc we did BLW so I just sent a lot of leftovers and then her daycare provided hot meals. She probably started eating more of them around 2ish.
DD2 started earlier bc she was home with me and got what DD1 wanted! So probably at/around 1y.

DS is 4.5 and he eats pb&j and grilled geese on the regular. DD is almost 2.5 and will eat grilled cheese but that's it for her.

My almost 4 year old has never eaten sandwiches... But my 1 year old loves them! Peanut butter or cheese or ham or chopped chicken, she demolishes them. She started eating peanut butter sandwiches at about 7 months and the other kinds more like 9 months.

My son will eat PB sandwiches as of 28 months. But only sometimes. Occasionally will eat a grilled sandwich pocket.

my almost 3 year old will eat pbj,grilled cheese, or baked subs. She has a hard time keeping a hold cut sandwich together. I make her turkey cheese roll-ups in tortilla instead.

DS (2.5) has been a sandwich fan for a while now. He eats a turkey or tuna sandwich for lunch most days of the week but also likes ham, PB&J, grilled cheese, etc. Grilled cheese was the gateway and he started liking those early -- maybe around 15-16 months?

I've tried PB and turkey cut into strips. My 19 month old will take a bite here or there, but he's not really into them.

Yes! 3.5 yo has been eating sandwiches since before he was 2. He loves turkey on a roll and pb&j. He enjoyed a couple bites of an Italian combo too!
