I'm considering it! LO is only 5 months so it will be awhile but I actually really have my heart set on her having a floor bed.

We are planning to transition DD out of her crib and I was half wanting to do a floor bed. Whether floor bed or toddler bed, I am just afraid she will get up in the middle of the night and wander! Did you have problems with Olive getting up and roaming around her room in the middle of the night?

She's in her toddler bed now and does great so we're planning to move her to a full sized bed soon and hopefully I'll be pregnant and we'll use the crib for baby #2

I have been thinking of transitioning her to one! Any mattress recommendations?

We have a family floor bed.

@autumnlove: I felt the same way about the 'look' of the floor bed so we made a padded headboard on the super cheap to make it look like a real bed. We do have plans to put her in a twin bed eventually but not yet

@chopsuey: @prettylizy: @Mrs. Twine: Are your floor beds on something? Or just a mattress directly on the floor? I've read some stuff saying it should have something under it for oxygen to flow but cannot figure out what that something would be. Thanks!

@cheesetomywhine: just a mattress on the floor. It's our old queen mat that was recently replaced by a king in our room. It is in fine shape and super comfy so I couldn't bear to throw it out. Dd loves her big bed

Yep. We started with one at 8 months. He now has a twin mattress on the floor in his room.

Nope, WJ is actually in our queen sized guest bed right now. He was in a crib, then the crib converted with toddler rail til almost 4 (he's small!) And finally I gave in and gave him the guest bed. Now when guests come over, he sleeps on an arrived in our room and the guests stay in his room.

He's fallen off a couple of times! But usually just climbs back on. If he falls and cries, we just tuck him back in and he goes right back to sleep.
